Sigh...why can't this rumor die already? It would be hard to plan a vacation around it. They aren't yet taking reservations for January 2067

Could someone fill me in on how its thought that because Disney shows HP on ABC that we could get this supposed ride?? Did Disney buy the full rights? Where did I miss this announcement.

It origninated from a supposed Universal conversation, where they guy said "Someone else has the Harry Potter rights wrapped up." or something like that. Needless to say, Jimmy boy jumped on the bandwangen, and others. Don't plan a trip around this ride, especially since you won't be going in a very long time, if ever.

Again Im confused because HP is owned by WB? What would Univ. have to do with anything...Other than Univ. Park in Fl....but even to that extent arent most WB rides at 6 Flags? Does Univ. have any other land since it sold it all?

Universal has nothing to do with this....a while back, Bob Gault, the president of Universal Orlando, was asked if Universal was going to pursue the rights to a Harry Potter attraction for the theme parks....he said that Disney had Potter "wrapped up" and that they were going to try for the rights to a LOTR attraction.

And yes, Universal has some land left since the selling of the Lockheed land....however, it isn't big enough for a theme park, just another resort.....

Bill and Grizz,
Please don't shoot yourselves. It would be very messy, very unDisney like, and we would miss you. Harry isn't such a bad guy, but I think that if anything WERE to happen with him, it would have been in the works already. I would think they would strike now, while he is still hot. I love Harry and would go anywhere to ride a Potter ride. However, you have all convinced me that he has no place in Disney. Let's do a ride around Sword and the Stone before we go the Potter route. :)

Oh sorry, my name isn't Bill. I was being sarcastic and thanking Bill who brought this rumor to the boards.
Ooops, sorry. But I still don't think you should shoot yourself. :animwink:
Save it for Buford (sp?) :p

We were both just kidding, this is the 50th Harry thread we have all been through.

Argh! It's the rumor that won't DIE! If you plan a trip around the HP ride you will never return to WDW ever because it will never ever show it's ugly face in a Disney theme park.

Heh, this thread is one of the best combinations of two touchy topics (HP and the "trip around stitch"). Keep it coming :)

Harry Potter Book 5 is the best. Because people die! And other stuff! And a faulty government that lead to the person dieing.... and everyone thinking Harry is a crazy person!!!!

Book 5 is the best....

Anyway, if a park were to build a Harry Potter Attraction, I would certainly hope that they wait until book 7 is released and read through the whole series before starting any concept work in Blue Sky.
