53 years ago today, Disneyland opened, and changed the world of family fun as we knew it. Ronald Reagan and Art Linkletter and Walt Disney himself ushered it in live on TV! As ladies' heels sunk into the still-soft asphalt pavement, and as Mouseketeers sang and danced, the world was introduced to a new form of entertainment -- the theme park -- which would grow to mean so much to us ... and give birth later to the Walt Disney World Resort...
