I don't know what you're talking about, but almost every new attraction at Epcot has had media attention. Mission:Space had a friday night special, Soarin' was mentioned all over the place, and Mission space and Soarin' are prominently shown on all WDW commercials. Epcot has made almost a 100% change in the last ten years, a refurbished SE(2007), Ellen's Energy Adventure(1996),Mission:Space(2003),Test Track(1998), Grand Fiesta Tour(2007), Imagination(1999,2002), Soarin'(2005), Seas with nemo(2006), New illuminations(1999). This is an unbelievable amount of changes, more than the other three parks combined over the last decade. If they are not trying to market this park, i don't know why all this new stuff is needed.

I never really like the wand much anyways. It always seemed a little cheesy to me. Hope the rumor is true! I would like to see the giant ball as I saw it when I was little... That's just my opinion however...

Am I reading the timestamp on that photo correctly, is this in progress at this moment or did someone do some photoshop work, really don't care weather it stays or goes just thought it was interesting the time stamp on the photo was today.:shrug:

The wand will haunt us forever. Just when I thought I was making piece with the wand this picture pops up. I think I'm going to be sick just looking at it. :hurl: This thread will go on and on and on......

It's weird that the camera time stamped this picture with 5/11/2007 because the picture was actually taken on 4/1/2007.

I feel the same way. Don't get me wrong, I'm still very much anti-wand, but you're right to say that the whole thing wouldn't be as bad without the stars. While I can at least appreciate that the wand is expertly designed (in terms of engineering--not aesthetics
), the stars look haphazardly thrown onto the sphere and don't really have the desired effect. We're meant to think they're falling from the wand, but somehow it doesn't come off that way.What's worse, they're actually intruders on the skin of the sphere itself. Without the stars, Spaceship Earth could have at least retained a shred of dignity and sat unharmed between the surrounding wand and tombstones, like a mother annoyed at what her kids are wearing. With the stars actually resting on it, though, the sphere looks utterly defeated...like a cheap, uh, "lady of the night" forced to wear two-cent makeup.
Sorry to those wand lovers who think I'm being over-dramatic, but Spaceship Earth has feelings. And it's a she. And she feels ashamed.

this is exactly why i made that ridiculious thread....
you people love talking about this wand, everyday this thread comes back and all of you post on it like youre making a difference.
learn to take a joke, i like disney world just as much as you guys but for some reason none of you have realzied or will admit that disney is going downhill and ruining all of the good attractions or making eyesore out of them. just like the wand...move on
