And hey, if I'm wrong, I'll be the first to admit it. It just seems a little...strange...I guess.
...well, shoot. Looks like I was wrong after all (not the first time, probably won't be the last). Oh well. Guess I'll find out in two weeks whether or not I gotta shave my head for this year. Wonder if anyone'll recognize me...

It's cool. Since I'm not in the area all my information is coming from one source. They a pretty tight scope on the inside track, but sources can always be mistaken. But they were letting me know about the Studios move in March... so that seemed fairly certain in my mind.

Check IOACentral.
Well how could I have read it if I don't visit IOACentral? :p I got banned there three years ago which is why I moved on IOAHQ (R.I.P. 2003 - 2006  ). :lookaroun Are you talking about the thread which says the parade is coming back at the Studios?

It's funny you sent me there too, I clicked on the 360 HHN thread which had a link to 360's Orlando Rocks page which is where I found this:

Note: There are clips from movies like Back to the Future‚ E.T. - The Extra-Terrestrial‚ The Fast and the Furious‚ Jurassic Park‚ Happy Gilmore‚ The 40-Year-Old Virgin‚ Scarface‚ Peter Pan‚ Along Came Polly‚ Bruce Almighty‚ Sixteen Candles‚ The Breakfast Club‚ American Pie‚ 8 Mile‚ The Mummy‚ Meet the Parents‚ The Nutty Professor‚ The Flintstones‚ Erin Brockovich‚ Psycho‚ the Universal Classic Monsters movies‚ Child´s Play‚ The Blues Brothers‚ Dante´s Peak‚ Dragonheart‚ Gladiator‚ Apollo 13‚ Fast Times at Ridgemont High‚ Shrek‚ Jaws‚ National Lampoon´s Animal House‚ American Graffiti‚ and many more.

That is the EXACT post I posted at MouseTimes. :hammer: :brick:

Went to auditions last night which had a HUGE turnout of close to 400 people... that's huge for the first night... I was #109 and was cast in a house... I'll know my specific role and position in the next 2-3 weeks...

But as for the event, it is confirmed that it is back at the Studios, 7 Houses, Bill & Ted, Street Shows (Arrival/Chainsaw Drill Team!), and 5 Streets...

The Houses are as follows:
-Screamhouse
-Psychoscarapy
-All Nite Die-in
-Dungeon of Terror
-Psychopath
-People Under the Stairs
-Run

Even though the houses have the same names, the team reassured us that they are going to be 'based' on the original house, but NOT the same layout or anything like that...

And the Streets are:
-New York
-Hollywood
-Kidzone
-Arrival
-54

There is no parade this year, but there are going to be street entertainers such as the Chainsaw Drill Team and other sideshow acts... Also, there will be 'Arrival' entertainment and scare activities going on each night, along the lines of what they used to do in the first years of the event. If you're not familiar with this, they used to allow the guests into the park about 15 minutes before it officially openned and would corral them all down Hollywood Blvd and stop them by Mel's/Horror Makeup... There would either be a small stage or a vehicle there which would have an 'opening scaremonies' type thing usually sacrificing a guest and would conclude with a "Welcome to Halloween Horror Nights!!!" small pyro flash and then they let loose tons of scareactors and let the guests free into the park...

There are a few mysteries still left from Auditions, especially concerning the number '54' and it's audition schedule under Houses. We assume it means Studio 54 but still unsure if it's an eight house, or another street. Because the team told us there were 7 houses, we're assuming it's a typo and putting it under streets for now. More news to follow...

Keep checking www.HalloweenHorrorNights.com and I hope to give some of you a scare this year!!

Very nice. :sohappy:

Quick questions...

- Is this a full return to the Studios or will some of IOA be used again as well?
- If it's just at the Studios will Bill and Ted be in the FFL theater? Do you know of any characters so far that will be in the show?
- Any word on them using 360 for a show?
- Will San Fran/Amity and World Expo be open? I don't see them on the street list but I'm just guessing that there won't be any scareactors or houses back there.

Sucks that there's no parade this year though, I like it. :( :lookaroun

Was just looking at the tickets section on the site and found this:

NEW Daytime tour
Unmasking the Horror Tour

Experience a behind the scenes look at Halloween Horror Nights. See what goes into the creation of our haunted experience, from the moment you walk thru the front gates to the design and creation of some of our most terrifying characters ever. Get a "lights on" view of some of this years haunted houses created for the event.

That sound cool, and it's a good deal at only $35. Might have to give it a try.

Let's see if I can help you here:
1. Dunno yet. Even if it's a "full return", they can still use the soundstages in the middle if they need em'.
2. Dunno yet.
3. Maybe. Also, maybe not.
4. Dunno yet. Even if there're no scareactors, they would probably keep it open simply to not implede the flow of traffic.

Well, crap, that wasn't very helpful, was it? They were being very secretive at auditions, and did not tell us much at all. But as soon as we hear anything, so will you.

I was on HHNVault last night and someone said there would be a complete transfer to the Studios. Only time however will tell if this is true.

#1- Yes... it is a full return to the Studios, with the soundstages in use (those are not specific to a park).
#2- Bill and Ted will be in the Fear Factor ampitheater.
#3- Still up in the air. I haven't heard confirmation on it one way or the other. Strong possibility.
#4- Considering a house is planned to be in the Jaws queque, and rumor was of a new building built behind MiB for a house, then yes.

The thing about Universal 360 is that it would be used to take the place of a parade... so instead they'll do a show in the middle of the night or something... we'll see but that's the rumor...

But yes the event is ENTIRELY at the Studios as no scarezones or houses are located in IOA...

Bill & Ted will be in FFL and so far only Bill & Ted are confirmed characters...

Houses are planned in Soundstages, NY, Kidzone, Jaws, Earthquake as well as a rumor of one back by MIB/BTTF... We'll see though... more news should be coming as more people audition/get call backs and the website is updated...

1st Timers

this will be our 1st time going... DD has always been too scared to go :lookaroun ...this year she has finally given in :sohappy: ... we have been checking out the different sites and blogs about past years, and my question is "will there be a safe zone, so to speak" at least where she can take a break... she read somewhere from last year that there were no safe zone and that the scareactors could actually comes into places to eat, etc., and still scare you...
does anyone have any info that might help me on this

I believe this is true ^

and that there won't be any "entirely" safe zone just places where it's slightly less likely to occur.

It'll be my 1st HHN in about 14 years of visiting... YAY! :sohappy:

Scaractors won't go into the buildings unless it is part of there scare. I've never seen it happen, never heard of it happening, and cannot imagine the Fear-cilitators allowing it. 2002 was the "No safe-zone" year, and since scares have been limited to the scarezones. In Islands, the scarezones were unavoidable... not so in the Studios.

Im excited about this year, I'll most likely be going back to bartend for the event all month. Nascar Cafe just isn't as much fun to bartend at as Halloween Horror Nights so hopefully come September/Oct I'll get a break and get to do the event again. I did it last year and it was so much fun (not to mention quite lucrative). Although the return to one park could mean less demand for bartenders. Does anyone know how it works, I mean will they call me back since I'm still "seasonal" or do I have to go to HR and get back in it for this year?

It all depends... generally during the week it isn't too crowded... either Sunday or Thursday are good nights... but Thursday the 12th should be avoided as MANY children will be out of school and heading there... I'd go on the 8th if I were you, get a "Frequent Fear Pass" which is the same price as a normal ticket I believe, and if you don't finish everything, go back on the 11th for round two... this way you'll save money from the Express Passes, plus you'll get to do the event twice... have fun!

There are guaranteed to be "safe zones" in USF. The park is too large and has too complex of a layout for them to cover the entire park with scareactors. This is only possible at IOA. With that said, you cannot navigate the park without crossing any scarezones. You probably won't even be able to enter it.

And yes, they will follow you into certain buildings if you give them enough motivation (by looking absolutely terrified.) Most scareactors will stay at their post, but others will hunt you relentlessly if they think it's worth it. As long as you're in their designated scarezone, you're fair game. This makes for hilarious results sometimes. :D

We've been going to Busch Gardens's Howl-O-Scream forever now, and I think that this time we'll make the trip up to USO from Tampa. Is it far worse and scarier than Howl-O-Scream? To be honest, we're actually kind of worried. :lookaroun

My brother lives by there, and he goes every year, until a couple of years ago. He was really drunk I guess and he was running through the houses and punching the props and stuff and accidentally nailed a scareactor. Embicile, i know. lol. He was banned for a year, but I don't think they actually kept him out.

It's more fun than scary. The scares aren't nearly as intense as they used to be... because of people like your brother. The scareactors have to be more careful now. Of course, all the booze they sell doesn't exactly help the problem.
