Just wish they would just put him in already and not worry about having a speech from him. Just use the prior audio from Ab and friends.

I was 8 years old the only time I went in to see it... I remember being bored and I have never gone again. I just don't think about going to Disney world to see this show, yet I love the old epcot. Oddly maybe if I was on a boat or an omnimover I might love it.... hmmmmmm
Surely I would have given it another chance from the time I was 8...

So, Disney can only win by being discriminatory? Choosing to not include him, while including others?

Disney can only win by continuing to operate this attraction as in the same capacity as any other president.
Nice ideology you got there, but, lousy knowledge of human behavior. Keep playing though. Discrimination isn't even closely copied after "ain't nobody seeing no one no how" at this time. All are equal, but, it's a political bombshell whether you like it or not, and it is to their advantage to just keep the gates closed. If enough people complain, then they have a reason to open it, but, I sincerely doubt that enough people will complain.

Agreed. Look, there was a potential political problem with installing Obama. Every time I visited HOP and the Obama AA spoke, I could feel the tension in the room. But that was it. Let's give people a little credit. Most Americans are intelligent and fair-minded. They can put things in perspective. TDO should install the Trump AA and be done with it. This whole brouhaha is absurd.

Agree, if they open it the best option is to just go back to the way that it was in the beginning. Once you put a sitting president in a speaking part of the show it becomes current politics and not history of presidents. The intent was good, but, the result was less then stellar.

Agreed that it should go back to non speaking. I've never seen that BUT, I couldn't imagine seeing that animatronic through a child's eyes..

To keep the gates closed is discriminatory, period. If all are equal as you claim, then he would serve the attraction in the same capacity as his predecessor. The best course of action is to open the attraction with a speaking role. Anything else will result in the Streisand effect.

Whether you like it or not, or CNN likes it or not, he is our president, and the position deserves respect.

If he does speak, it will be him standing there reading a speech written by Disney for the attraction, not some nightmare show. I don't like him, but I genuinely don't care if he speaks or not. I'd be fine with going back to Washington, Lincoln, and whoever else they choose, but I'd also be fine if Disney wants to continue their current run of having the sitting President speak.

But isn't part of the reason for delay the fact that the White House won't sign off on a speech? I can only imagine what he wants it to say.

I'd agree with not giving speaking roles to sitting Presidents. If they just took office, what of any historic significance could they possibly have to say? Let it be about the history of the office.

While anything is possible, I doubt any outsider knows the whole reason. I saw a story somewhere saying that, but who knows what the source was.

Not going to waste my time trying to explain the realities of life to someone that doesn't want to hear or acknowledge them. Beside it will get this thread closed... that was my opinion and that is the end of the discussion. The position absolutely deserves the respect, the person in it has to earn that respect. Can't see that happening, if it does, I will change my mind.

I know exactly what you are saying. You are saying that it is okay to discriminate against those you don't like. If this was a discussion about any other group or person, it would be criminal.

I however, believe all presidents deserve to be treated equally, and have equal roles in the attraction, whether you like them or not.

The word "discrimination" doesn't exactly fit.

The booing is over stated. I have been at least once every trip and have never heard anyone making a sound. I'm sure it happens occasionally, but, it is pure hyperbole to think that it is a common occurrence.

I saw the last president booed a handful of times. And unfortunately the last time was by my wife's insufferable Aunt. I was not the least shocked by her behavior. But I was still quite embarrassed. Literally anyone could have been elected and the results would probably be the same. I'd like to think the majority of guests will remain to be respectful as they have in the past.

How does it not fit? The argument is if you don't like Trump, then he should be excluded from having a speaking role, or delay the attraction altogether, even though every other president has. You must have a different definition of discrimination.
