Rumor Hall of Presidents Replaced by Muppets American History Show???

ETR and CBJ both have marketable characters Disney owns, and technically are IPs in themselves. They might time to time prop up the rides with infusing their mainline IPs, but as long as the interest is there in them and they can market both they have incentive to have them stick around.

COP is a project Walt worked through in its entirety and the only existence left of it, so it gains a legacy status that would be hard to convince the company to remove.

Those three will stick around in some iteration for a long while. HOP doesn't have this, or really anything in the list of reasons Disney would want to keep any attraction. The closest is it's the only instance of this attraction, Walt wanted to see this happen someday, and that it was opening day. Don't think that's enough to overcome the incentives Disney sees in removing this.
Ok, FULL STOP…there hasn’t been ANY word from Disney that I’m aware of that gave an impression that TWDC was in discussions or had ANY incentive to replace HoP…

I literally said “is it more” implying a question. So no, I am not telling you “it’s more.”

I would bet Disney’s Villains franchise does do better than Muppets, and Disney will be watching how the Universal Monsters thing works out at Epic, and Disney will look how they can get more out of their Villains, and HH could be identified as one that is underutilized. They have used him on ornaments, pins and Food & Beverage.
Well, considering they’re about to build a Villains land and may very well do away with the last remaining Muppets attraction, I’d say that’s a safe bet.

Thanks for adding! One of these, "Superstar Limousine" needed to be destroyed!

And lets not forget the worst mistake in Disney parks history - Disneyland's people mover destroyed for the failed Rocket Rods, that failed and closed and literally destroyed the people mover track such that it could never be used again and remains as a sad reminder.

Could the destruction of Rivers of America, Tom Sawyer Island, Liberty Square Riveboat be WDWs Rocket Rods?

Only time will tell..
Having ridden both of those, it would be hard for me to say which one was worse...lol Ok Superstar Limo because it was so slow and boring....but they were both absolutely terrible attractions. Rocket Rods had some promise at least, but was ruined by budget cuts... All the show scenes cancelled, they decided not to spen the money banking the curves making the vehicles slow down at every curve....which I am told in the end was the thing that broke the system.. Eisner and Pressler....yikes.

No official word, but that doesn't mean plans aren't being worked on.

They already said they wanted to get out of politics and like it or not, intended or not, this is a political attraction right in the middle of a fantasy park that the vast majority of people don't want to go on. Even without all that, being one of the lowest rated attractions in the park means it would be in danger with today’s Disney.

Personally, I would be surprised if we didn’t hear an announcement around the next D23.

They shouldn’t be allowed.
I wish Disney would put something in those underutilized spaces, along with Wonders of Life.

I don’t know why they haven’t. I’m sure WDI is looking at those spots, they just haven’t been able to get anything Green Lit (except maybe Monsters in Animation Courtyard)
Maybe they just can't think of any good IPs to shove in there.

I dunno, I think Disney should do something with the empty spaces like Stitch and Wonders of Life before getting rid of still-running attractions that add capacity to the park like Muppets, Dinosaur, and Hall of Presidents. Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom need more capacity as is.

Yep. Thanks a lot, Disneyland Paris.

It’s been a long week for me so I haven’t been on here. I’m sure this has already been talked about (I apologize if it has)- but I’m curious if Trump’s animatronic will just be reused or if Disney will try to whip up a better/worse looking one.

I didn’t think there was any real credibility to them removing HOP/Liberty Square, unless they convert it to “Sleepy Hollow” when Villains Land comes.

I’m purposely avoiding this conversation but to be clear here: it is a company priority to remove the Hall of Presidents. It’s not an if. It’s a when.
Using the same reasons for removing the hall of presidents, wouldn’t the same apply for the tomorrowland speedway?
There is no IP tie-in, merch., or intense drive to purchase lightening lanes.
So, when do we say goodbye to the speedway?

Any word on when the Hall of Presidents will be going down for the figure move? I'm sure it can't take that long to move two AAs around.

It's a bit deeper than that. The roll call Trump Animatronic is not the same as the one that previously spoke. Whenever the show is updated, the former PotUS is swapped out for a far less articulated figure.

Assuming they didn't keep the previous Trump sculpt, they'll have to make an entirely new one. It's possible they foresaw this scenario and kept it in storage somewhere, but I'm not entirely sure. They'll also have the unprecedented task of removing the current Trump figure from the stage altogether.

They probably took it to Burbank and did the Office Space fax machine on it.

Illuminations - Way past due for an update, I agree but it should have been UPDATED, not destroyed and replaced.

EPCOT Future world - Limping along since 2000 with every addition making less thematic sense, I agree but what they replaced it with is un themed garbage, again it should have been updated, example, the fountain of nations should have been up UPDATED, not destroyed and replaced

Dino land USA - Replaced by far better idea, maybe, I wish I knew why Disney is erasing dinosaurs from the park, it’s disappointing for all the kids who love dinosaurs.

Muppets 3D - Unknown, I hope it’s not destroyed, but it probably will be.

Hall of Presidents - again, I hope it’s not destroyed, but it probably will be.
