Using the same reasons for removing the hall of presidents, wouldn’t the same apply for the tomorrowland speedway?
There is no IP tie-in, merch., or intense drive to purchase lightening lanes.
So, when do we say goodbye to the speedway?
Hopefully soon. It’s such a waste of land. They could’ve put Cars there and saved the rivers, imo.

I see this thread as turned into grievances about closed attractions.
Probably a blessing that the Northern VA locals fought Eisner who was already set to build Disney America in their location , won and the Mouse pulled out of the plan to build. That would be theme park park near our Capitol would make the closing of attractions in WDW look like a walk in the park

Oh god could you imagine if that happened? Under Iger it’d become just another IP park with a vaguely American facade

As much as I love a theme park that celebrates the history of the United States, Disney's America sounded like it'd be kinda lame. For the most part it really was just DCA 1.0. Besides, Disneyland is already dedicated to the ideals, the dreams, and the hard facts that have created America.

Still, a park celebrating the United States is there. Colonial New England, the Antebellum South, New York City, the State Fair, Hollywood, Route 66... All great environments for a theme park.

Pack up HoP next year... move it to the Great American Fair for the 250th birthday, then build a new theatre in Epcot and return the show to WDW as a second theatre show in the American Pavilion.

Then they can do whatever they want with Liberty Square.
I don’t think EPCOT needs two animatronic theater shows about American History.

My opinion…I have enjoyed WDW since 1971 when I was 4 years old. I have witnessed the resort campus grow into a behemoth from a simple entertaining and enjoyable singular theme park. I was one of the Save Mr. Toad protesters. That was an attraction I still miss but am grateful I can ride in California (one track 🫤). However, I am surprisingly willing to let HoP go. I loved it as a child. My elementary school civic classes made me excited for this attraction.

Unfortunately, here we are in 2024 and politics is not necessarily a positive topic. I have not entered this attraction for at least 15 years due to concerns about unruly guests. I think it is time. Maybe we can just enjoy it privately online on YouTube.

I would rather see the Muppets teach us American history with humor which can be a common denominator for everyone.

That’s all.

As someone from New England I’d love to see it recreated in a theme park! I know DisneySea has Cape Cod but that’s super specific (though I love it!)

Or... put it in EPCOT. And revert Cosmic Rewind to Energy Adventure so that there's a history of energy. And we have a history of communication in SSE. And LwtL has a history of agriculture. And get the new Test Track to be a history of automobiles.

And then we can call the front part of EPCOT... Past World!!!

Disney is allowed to promote or suppress ANY message they choose. They are free to do whatever they want and they have no obligation to be impartial to any social debate. The Hall of Presidents does NOT belong to Disney's customers,...it belongs to Burbank and they can rightfully send ANY message they want.

Burbank is free to modify, mutilate or destroy any or ALL attractions if they feel like it doesn't suit them any longer. We as customers can't do anything about it.

If you like what Burbank is doing to the company and it's legacy, then spend more money at Disney. If you don't like what Burbank is doing?....then turn your back and spend your money somewhere else.

The rule of "cause and effect" will take it's course.....

cause and effect

noun

pluralcauses and effects

: the direct relationship between an action or event and its consequence or result

It seems to me that Disney has made many, MANY business decisions in the past 5 years with the idea that there was never ANY fear of "cause and effect".

"Sir...we are headed stratight for a field of icebergs. We MUST change course!!!..."

"That's absurd....we don't fear icebergs. We are so big and powerfull that not even God can sink us. Stay the course...FULL STEAM AHEAD!!"

Ok Burbank...you do that. I'm tired of trying to convince and beg Burbank to "not" jump off the bridge. Go for it Burbank! Jump! I'll get some popcorn and sadly watch the disaster to continue to unfold.
Please don’t worry so much about Disney. They’ll be just fine.

The nice part about HoP is there are no height restrictions or warnings to guests with medical issues prior to experiencing this wonderful attraction ! There will be no surprises that may affect little ones screaming and crying in fear like at AK It’s Tough to be a Bug.

Yes
I can help fix that... you know the tune:

There’s a great big office at the White House
There on Pennsylvania Avenue
There’s a great big desk inside that office
Where the President signs bills for me and you.

Congress does stuff, and that’s a fact
They put together pork and then they pass an act
And when they agree on the philosophy
There’s some great big money, for you and me.

Oh, there’s a great big office at the White House
Where our country’s leaders work as one
And there a great big desk inside that office
Where our Presidents can sit and get it done!
