Hall of Presidents all set to go...

I just saw 2 previews of the new show this afternoon.

Only my opinion of course but I think they've done a brilliant job. The storyline is very different with much more focus on the president and a little less history lesson. Lincoln in the Gwttysburg address is absolutely amazing.

I see another winner here.

Um, that's it?

Details we need a few more details!

My favorite is sitting in the lobby waiting for the show to start, and eavesdropping on the people around me trying to guess the names of the presidents in the portraits (they're usually wrong), or stating incorrect trivia about our presidents ("that's thomas jefferson isn't it? was he our 4th or 5th president?" [neither]..."where's benjamin franklin at? i don't see him!" [never a president]) :ROFLOL:

It's a little scary...

Why could they have not learned the lyrics to The President's Song like I did?

Sorry folks, Typing on the mobile without my glasses so I kept it short.

I'll post much more detail when I get home tonight and have time to map it out.

A lot of the basics were in the article the other day but I'll flesh out the detail tonight

The Sparrow AA's were great, but yes there were some mistakes there as well. The exterior work (mainly removing Pete) was kind of a head scratcher and the removal of the Skull at the drop was a dumb decision IMO.
.
Not to mention making every other word in the Attraction' Captain Jack Sparrow.:animwink: BTW' There aren't any dumb "Thank the Phonecian type lines in the new HOP' are there?

I hope they keep the blue curtains and the silhouette in the beginning of the show....but then again the spaceship earth paperboy is facing a wall and the chariot image is gone...so who knows... :dazzle:

If there is ANYTHING that has been positive with the Magic Kingdom over the past 5 years or so, it has been the refurbishing of the classic attractions. IASW, POTC, Mansion were all either fairly well done (POTC) or very well done (IASW and Mansion). I did love the previous film portion because it was one of the most quotable things in all of WDW, but I agree that shortening the film and getting to the AA's quicker is the best decision.

I really expect this to be a fantastic change. Now hopefully I'll start hearing less about these interactive queue elements over at Space Mountain (which I think are TERRIBLE at Soarin') and I can start getting my hopes up again for that refurbishment as well.

Looking at the refurbs objectively I would say Haunted Mansion and (hopefully) COP are good. Gets an A.

IASW is a fair refurb. It's nice that they redid the first room to make it look like Disneyland's and gave it a clean up but what is with the removal of figures and leaving the roof exposed? I'll give it a B.

Pirates is where I will have to disagree with you that gets an F because this is something where I know what the plan was and how the budget was shredded and the plans were downgraded all because Holmes didn't want to keep the ride closed for even a few weeks. We could have had a unique and exciting version of Pirates that was almost as good as the Disneyland version with new show scenes and a longer ride. We ended up actually loosing more AA's than we gained, recieved some new cringe worthy dialogue, lost a unique show scene exclusive to WDW, and they didn't even add the new speakers like they were supposed to (really how cheap can you be?).

As for Space Mountain...

I hope they keep the blue curtains and the silhouette in the beginning of the show....but then again the spaceship earth paperboy is facing a wall and the chariot image is gone...so who knows...

What was the story with the paperboy? In the late 90s they changed his voice to a man's and now they have him facing the other way. Is it something to do with child labor? Do people actually complain that an AA kid in a historical setting is selling newspapers??

It would have taken longer than a few weeks for that amount of work to be done

Seriously, I guess I just had low expectations for the POTC refurb because honestly I've never thought of it as being a major attraction anyways. And that was before experiencing the Disneyland version. But especially after experiencing the real POTC in Anaheim, I guess it really didn't bother me no matter what they did to the MK version

I'm with you, seemed pretty much the same post refurb but it's never been my favorite attraction. Living with the land is a much better ride utilizing that system.
