Haircut Costs on Main Street?

Do they make a big fuss over your child getting their first haircut? My son will only be 8 months old this summer when we go but I am thinking about paying the money for just a "snip" so he can have his first haircut at disney and it is something I can always remember! Do they give him ears and stuff for free or is that additonal? I am just wondering if this is something I should do. Any thoughts??

It really is a fun experience. Perhaps you should try it at least once. I live about 20 min. from Magic Kingdom and, heck, I could get a haircut at Wal-Mart right across the street and save time and money, but I prefer to go all the way to MK, with TTC Parking and Monorail and all, just to get a haircut. If you time it with the parades and you can see it outside the windows, it's really neat. And plus there's a guy there called Michal who almost ALWAYS cuts my hair. He's an awesome guy and good at cutting hair. And plus if you're a guest, you can get the colored gel or pixie dust and it'll make your day that more fun.

(Now granted I can't say too much cause I get the CM discount at $12.:lookaroun But it's still worth it full price. There's a lot of magic happening in that Barber Shop.:animwink:)

Michal is GREAT! He has cut my hair every time I've gotten it cut there. (See Avatar)

I'll be a 35 year old when I go in October.. Not sure I want the colored gel or pixie dust LOL...

It's fun! I got my first gel and Pixie Dust in my late 40's:lookaroun:lol:. The only problem is not wearing a hat for the rest of the day. And of course, tipping Mousekeeping extra the day after (I don't get the gel and PD when I'm staying at friends' house- too hard to clean the tub/shower:lol:)

Yeah, saw your avatar before. It's great.:) Did you know that Michal was on international primetime tv? I went on a trip to Japan lately and lo and behold while watching a popular gameshow, they do a special on WDW and Michal pops up. I think the question was something like guess this man's job. Michal's an international superstar.

Both of my boys had their first haircuts at WDW. The 1st haircut Mickey ears are included and they give you a certificate and wrap some hair up and seal it with a mickey sticker.

Just like any other barber shop, you tell them how you want it cut.
Michal does a wicked "flat-top", one of the best I've had since 1968!:lookaroun:lol:

I used to say "#6 on top and tapered sides", (a "better cut" than what I used to do at home with the clippers myself). Then, I decided to try the flat-top (which is what I grew up with), it was great and I have tried to find a barber in my hometown that can give me the same cut with varied results.

These are trained professionals, and are very worth the money (I've paid between $12 and $20 for the same type of cuts- the best was at WDW)
