I never haveI know right?! And who hasn't taken advantage of driving behind a speeding police car on the interstate LOL? Does that officer ever pull over and give the car behind him a ticket? Not to my knowledge

Agreed. But this exact issue is why they are looking at charging for parking at the resorts. One could argue your sister is abusing the system. I don't find a problem with that at all but i understand.
If you read English well why did you have to ask the cast member? It is clearly stated on the sign. If there had been an accident who would your cousin have sued? That specific cast member or Disney? It is very simple. You should have never put the cast member in that position. You can try and rationalize all day and night but what you did is still wrong on all accounts.
Stop. Common sense and logic have no place in your life when you have a sign you can blindly obey.
Because people have nothing better to do than make other people feel bad. This comes down to common sense. Most Disney pools especially the quiet ones aren't going to be checking if your staying there or not. Obviously if it's peak times and popular pools they will check bands and then you just to be safe should add your family or friends to room for the day. If Disney really cared about people pool hoping they would crack down on it and make it so no one can enter pool area without bands or room key. It's not that hard. As far as the quiet pools there really isn't anything Disney can do since they don't have anyone there to monitor until it's closing time and they tell you it's time to leave.Wow. This is apparently a big deal. Crazy.
We go twice a year for a few days, usually stay deluxe, and I've never gone to the pools, even when staying yacht/Beach. 3 days of park time means we're spending most of our time at the parks. So your mom can have my spot, OP.

No the reason for the fences is because the state of Florida past law that requires it. Why the fence around WL main pool looks horrible and cut off areas. Every pool at Disney will have a fence around it. As far as cracking down they aren't doing it at certain resorts. Places like Yacht/Beach Club, Poly and BW were always monitored more than other pools like Saratoga which has two themed pools that you can just walk right in.This is not in reference to the OP's post..Only to your comment.
They are cracking down. That's why they send people with paper wristbands and scanning bands. BUT- every pool shouldn't need a gate around it.. it ruins the look and feel. People should realize that rules are actually rules.. that's why they're printed on a sign.. but instead, it will probably get to the point where all pools have fences. Sad.
I never have
Whoa. I'm on your side.Considering you're kind of late to the party, why don't you stop? If you had actually read everything then you would've seen that my scenario was a few years ago, before signs were everywhere, gates, and staff scanning MagicBands at the feature pool. In fact, this trip was before MagicBands! How long have those signs been at quiet pools around Riverside? Because I can tell you, I don't remember ever seeing a sign at the quiet pool close to us on that trip. If there was, it was not in a highly visible area. If you're new to Disney, how are you supposed to know unless you ask? So if I wasn't sure, I asked the staff working in the front lobby, and they told me it was fine to use a quiet pool, then what is it to you?? Honestly, I'm so tired of people getting a frickin attitude, and jumping down everyone's throats, whenever they ask a simple question or have a differing opinion. If the response from Disney posted earlier is correct, that it's at the resorts discretion, then leave it alone. It's at their discretion, not yours, mine, or anyone else's.
When I encounter a theater that charges huge bucks to watch a movie, and then begrudges me bringing in my own special treat (that they don't sell), I find another theater or wait for the video and watch it on my own big screen. You own a movie theater and make your profits off of the popcorn, so you post a No Outside Food sign.
Some people miss the '70's...The 70s are over and no one particularly misses them
Whoa. I'm on your side.
I read all the posts in this thread, and I'm amazed that all those people driving 80 on the interstate and blowing my doors off get all high-and-mighty over a corporation's pool policy sign.
Clearly, my sarcasm didn't register with you -- I'm sorry I offended you; I didn't mean to ruffle your feelings.
