Guest Restraining Walls around 7DMT?

DLR caters a lot more to dumb teens then WDW. There are numerous counts of injuries and even a few deaths associated with grad nights at DL.

That's grad night, and it's very different from the common day guests. WDW has a huge influx of guest from around the nation; so you have dumb Iowa teens, dumb New Jersey teens, dumb Texas teens, etc. Add on the fact that they are coming in and out of the park everyday, many with other dumb teens. It makes sense why Disney World does not have a grad night, they have it every day.
DL is pretty wild on weekend evenings.
Once again, lot's of stupid people in one place, every day, stuffs going to happen.

How many teens from Iowa, New Jersey and Texas are at WDW without their parents? Sure, there are sports teams and some school groups, but they are somewhat supervised. How many unsupervised teens have died at WDW? Disneyland is a much more locals focused park so by default has a lot more unsupervised teens.

At Disneyland it's just the dumb LA teens. In Disney World its the dumb teens of America.

This just reminds of my first high school band trip in '95 to WDW. In one trip:

1) 1 person got out of the floom on Splash Mtn and started walking around the ride, resulting in a full shut down.
2) I watched someone I knew at the MK monorail station hop the railing, jump on the monorail track and jump to the other side so he could join friends who were exiting the other monorail.
3) girl caught shoplifting from the shop at the World Showcase entrance.

I'm amazed we were still allowed to perform and continued to be invited back.

Big Thunder in Disneyland is surrounded by walkways and hasn't had any issues.

Besides the train going near the queue area (where it does it above the sunken queue area.. with a lot more obstructions too) I don't think the two are very comparable at all. BTMRR is set back from the boundaries of the attraction for the most part (including obstacles like water!). here with the compact size of the attraction, the ride vehicle is passing extremely close at at least two points where both distance, and lack of elevation differences lead to great risk to the ride envelop. From both thrown objects and people trying to extend themselves into the ride path.

Dragon Challenge at IOA had to stop dueling because of idiots throwing projectiles at on coming trains. Apparently a coin blinded a guest. Expect the worst, then multiply by 10.

And my brain never went in this direction. I'll blame my Mom, she never dropped me on my head when I was little.

While I don't disagree with the lack of child supervision in our society today, and the constant form of placing the blame on others when the reality is just bad parenting, I do find this discussion interesting. Here we actually have something that looks artistically beautiful, with great theme and landscaping however the complaint department is still running overtime. I'd be willing to bet that if there was a permanent wall constructed around the coaster, many here would be pointing out how horrible to wall is, and what an eye sore it is. It's starting to sound like Congress on these boards… sigh…

Nothing dangerous is even remotely within reach of guests. Sure a guest can scale some of the rock work or take a dive over a wall, but that's certainly not Disney's fault. I think a parking lot is probably more dangerous to unwatched kids than this attraction. No little ones will be capable of scaling that rock work, but they can certainly wander away from parents into oncoming traffic.

I'd actually suspect someone might drown themselves on small world before they hurl themselves in front of this roller coaster.

If subways can still exist in most of North America without even safety gates I think Disney has more than adequately covered their bases here. Really, those are just bigger trains, traveling much faster, with exposed electrical lines and no barrier in between you and a pit of doom. As far as Disney goes, guests seem to constantly throw themselves from cruise ships (not sure if this has yet happened on DCL), but no one seems to blame the cruise lines for stupid guests. If a safety rail is there and a guest decides to jump it, it seems like they are now wilful in their own fate.

The only thing of danger is guests tossing stuff, but this isn't the first time a ride vehicle has been below a guest overlook and it won't be the last. The area is significantly exposed to other people walking by, which should create enough social pressure to prevent people from being idiots (or at least if they do throw something, to be easily caught and banned from Disney).

Lets have a little faith in humanity on this one guys, and if someone does something stupid give them the old heave-hoe.

Yep - because as Ron white says "you can't fix STUPID!!"

But by default WDW has the teens or America, each with different views of how one may behave. Along with that your far-less likely to meet someone you know at Disney World then you are at Disneyland. I'm not saying DL does not have it's fair share of stupidity, but WDW has the DL stupidity and then American society.

Wrong, sadly. All it takes is one little kid climbing over one rock (The rock is about the size of the fake dinosaur outside over by dinosaur, the ones all the kids climb daily.)

All it takes is someone to not watch their kid for a couple minutes.

gives you a good view of that turn from the inside, as you can see the rockwork is directly behind the track. So the minute you step over those rocks, well good luck.
Being a smoker, I've had plenty of time to observe the dinosaur in dino land. I always wondered how some kid has not cracked his head open before. The dinosaur is awkwardly shaped and makes for a tough climb. Parents seem to encourage their child to climb the dinosaur to snap a pic when they could easily fall and break an arm or leg. Some people lose all common sense when they walk through the gate.
