Guest banned from WDW for meth lab joke.

I don't remember him saying that he got ****y with OCSO. He did say, somewhat as a justification for his behavior directed at Disney staff, that his wife says he sometimes blows his gasket. I'm just agreeing with your remark that his interaction with law enforcement may be more responsible for his removal from the hotel & banning from WDW than his meth lab comment.

I have several friends who are defense lawyers. They always tell you that any interaction with law enforcement, even if stopped for the most mundane reason, should be polite and respectful. "Yes sir/ma'am. No sir/ma'am. Good afternoon, officer, is there something wrong?"

Being polite, a tad charming and very apologetic got me out of a speeding ticket in Miami....

And that is very very very good advice.

If you are gonna blow a gasket at law enforcement, it's best to have a family member/friend recording vertical video on their phone while you do it. That part can be edited out to just show the cop tasing you.

Bwahahahahahahaha.

You and I are familiar with lots of situations where this could have resulted in the gentleman being arrested for disorderly conduct.

This guy being a youth pastor leader, he should certainly know how to talk to a law-enforcement official in a respectful fashion.

Innocent until proven guilty. That's all I have to say.
The problem is that if this guy were in the wrong, it's not likely to ever go to court so no proving will be done in either direction. We can only go by the fact that he has gone public and that Disney will say nothing about it publicly. So it is like a traffic ticket... you don't think you can win so you check off the box that says "not contested". That usually means, I did it, but, I don't think it was fair and at the same time I don't want to make it worse then it already is.

Wow, can't believe I actually read all 9 pages of this. It has been MY experience in Life that people that "blow their gaskets" tend to either be genuinely offended/incorrectly accused of something OR completely guilty of said offense, and use anger to misdirect the glaring light of truth.

I think his wife is the one we should be listening to.

I know. But many on here are speculating and accusing him, and then bashing those who aren't accusing him, and I believe those people are in the wrong. It's innocent until proven guilty, not guilty until proven innocent, which is what a lot of people in this thread are going off of. A few of those people are also being quite rude to the ones who aren't accusing him. Which shouldn't be happening.

I know where you are coming from, but, this guy is pleading for people to basically take up arms in his favor against Disney and help him force Disney to reconsider. That makes Disney guilty until proven innocent. That is even worse. Innocent until proven guilty is only relevant if both sides are known. For the innocent until proven guilty all sides have had to have their turn to explain, and we should not expect that nor condone taking active sides in the dispute. We can, however, express our thoughts based on past actions and reactions of the parties involved, including Disney. It's opinion not official declaration.

We, of course, are speculating but so far only because the direction of the story is one sided. If he really feels that he was treated unfair it is up to him to take the legal action to clear his name. So far he has only been accused of, in his words, joking. Mostly what is being said by us is the fish has been left on the shelf too long and something stinks about it. In the court of public opinion nothing is going to happen to him. Some are just expressing doubt, whether or not he is, is of no real consequence when judged by us. He is asking for help in "fighting" his case and taking his side and he really should not need any, at least from us.

The rude or perceived rudeness, is a matter of personal perception and again of no consequence to Mr. Swindler. I am certainly not going to offer sympathy or assistance unless I have heard the other side. That is what determines guilt or innocence. If it were Disney telling just their side of the story without his input, would you still be feeling the same way if someone implied that Disney was guilty, which, by the way, has happened in this thread when his side is taken without knowing the other.

The problem is that can be applied to both sides, do we assume he is innocent and did nothing wrong or do we assume the CM and Disney are innocent and did nothing wrong?

I find when faced with two possible scenarios, one that doesn't make much sense (banning a guest over a joke) and one that would make sense (banning a guest over an angry threat) the scenario that makes sense is usually what happened, not always, but usually.

Call me naive and honestly, I have no knowledge of the subject.....but do people actually build meth labs in hotel rooms?

I mean, its not like this is a $10/night and $5 extra for sheets type roadside motel in Bumbwherever Nowhere. This is Disney where there is more activity and people monitoring your every move. I would think that any suspicious activity beginning with someone having the wrong colored magic band would be noticed and reported by most guests.

I'm thinking that IF I was starting a meth lab, that doing it a WDW proper is not high on my list.

(Disclaimer: This post is in written as sarcasm and is not intended to insinuate or state fact that I, or any member of my family, plans to or currently does operate a meth lab or any other forms of illegal drug making activity either at my residence or any WDW resort property.) ....Just in case any CM's are on the board.

Yes, people do build meth labs in hotels.

I've seen them built in Hawthorne Suites. The police response to that was something. I think Disney chose a midnight confrontation was to avoid alarming too many guests.

A ridiculously stupid overreaction on Disney's part.....which as stated, will only hurt them as the case gets reported on the news and more people hear of it. BUT.....in reality, it'll just dwindle away into nothing. It may even eventually be overturned quietly like the "lifetime ban" Disney had in place on YouTuber "Adam the Woo" (who now is allowed back in).

In this day and age of our sue happy culture where everything is always someone else's fault, police do not get called, people are not escorted from hotel rooms in the small hours of the morning and lifetime bans are not issued without a darn good reason. No management would risk the reprercusions of such a mistake. Whether it started with a stupid, ill advised "joke" and ended with, perhaps, violent behavior, we' can only guess.. All we know is what Mr. Swindler, Disney lover, handicapped victim, is telling us.

I don't see how you can say this is a "ridiculously stupid overreaction on Disneys's part". You've only heard from one side of the story of course his story is favourable for his side.

Would it have been such an over reaction if you and your family were staying on the same resort, Same building, and they found something in his hotel room.

The only way to get the true story is if Disney ever release the tape of the phone conversation. Which I don't think will ever happen

Also you can't compare a YouTube guy to someone possibly having a meth lab. They are two completely different things.

I can very easily consider it a stupid overreaction on Disney's part....and it's a wonder that not everybody can. If I was staying there with my family in the same resort and heard someone simply use an obviously overexaggerated statement talking about their wait, I'd have chalked it up to nothing.....which it clearly was.

And I CAN compare this absurdity with the absurdity of the YouTuber. His "lifetime ban" was overturned and all he did was videotape some stuff in "off limits" areas. This guy simply had his exaggerated statement blown out of proportion.....which will likely lead to his own ban being overturned eventually.
