I have been searching various stores (online and in person) for shoes to go with my costume with no luck. Today I saw that DSW sent me a $20 off coupon a few weeks ago that's expiring soon, so I checked out the sneaker selection and ended up purchasing:

Let's hope the sizing is correct and I don't have to return them!

So excited that I found this Thread!!

First congratulations on the new home. We are from Bergen County, NJ so know just how insane the real estate market has been this past year. So happy for you guys that you found your home (well home away from WDW of course!)

I can't wait to see how your planning goes. We have always stayed at the Contempary Resort (as we have 2 kids and have 2 neices and nephews so being able to walk back from MK for nap times and breaks has been a lifesaver at times) but our next trip (which is also when you will be as Swaphin!!! we booked last minute and are staying at the Dolphin. We have a grotto cabana for the Saturday as well, so if you see 4 crazy kids ages 11-7 riding around on the swan paddle boats, feel free to tell them to quiet down!!! lol.

Love the yellow shoes! I might have to borrow that idea for my much less exciting Mickey “costume” (red shorts, black tshirt).
Thank you! A Mickey costume is still exciting! And I might have to steal the Mickey idea since I now have yellow shoes...

The shoes are perfect!!
Thank you!

Love the shoes! They look fantastic!
Thank you!

Thank you! I used to work in Edgewater and Tenafly so I have spent quite a bit of time in Bergen County. I hope you love the Dolphin!

We are officially past the 60 day mark! I have made a few dining reservations (maybe some multiples on different days so we can decide later which day to do which restaurant). Unfortunately I can't make reservations for the Swan part of the trip until we are 60 days out from THAT check in day, but we will be at Epcot some of those days enjoying Food and Wine kiosk items so we won't need too many ADRs.

I KNOW YOU KNOW I WILL BE THERE, DISNEY!

How about that fireworks news??? Honestly I have been pleasantly surprised with all of the steps to return to normal (no masks outside, no masks inside, fireworks returning, etc.) and I am so glad we'll get to see some fireworks!

If you know us you know we prefer watching fireworks, at least MK fireworks, from a restaurant or resort over watching them in the park. It's not the fireworks crowds that bother me so much, it's more the anxiety of trying to get back to our resort afterward, so if we can just hang around and walk back from MK to the Contemporary...maybe we'll actually stay and watch them in the park!

Dining reservations!

I made a whole bunch of reservations and I’m sure we won’t keep all of them, but I wanted to grab them when I could and I’ll edit as we get closer to the trip. Here are the reservations we have now:

*Grand Floridian Café dinner
Whispering Canyon Café lunch
*’Ohana breakfast
California Grill dinner (2 for now)
Le Cellier dinner
*Sebastian’s Bistro dinner
Sci-Fi lunch
*Mama Melrose’s dinner
*Cape May Café breakfast
Ale & Compass dinner
La Hacienda dinner

The ones with asterisks are restaurants we have never done before.

I know it is practically a cardinal sin that we are Disney fans who have never been to ‘Ohana, but the food and experience never seemed worth the price for us. A few things have changed that helped us decide to try it:
1) No characters. We are NOT character people. We especially have no desire to have character meals and have them awkwardly interrupt our meal.
2) New plant-based meal option at breakfast. A lot of buffets and family style places are not a great value for us as vegetarians (we don’t want to pay for meat we’re not eating!) but with the choice to have veggie sausage we are more interested!
3) Price reduction. With no characters comes a better price!

We are planning to try Cape May for similar reasons and my brother will likely join us for this meal.

Sebastian’s also has a plant-based family style option we are excited to try.

Of the new-for-us restaurants, GF Café is the one we are least excited about and most likely to cancel. We shall see.

I am also hoping, perhaps foolishly, that some of the Food and Wine special event meals might return this year. We would love to do the Parisian Breakfast again, for example. Who knows.

I also wonder if there will be a temporary setup for The Wave in a different space, but I doubt it since all the rooms of the main tower are closed (and therefore overall occupancy of the resort will be quite low).

but will there be BRUNCH?! :geek:

I've been away so long... it's VERY exciting to see you and @Tuvalu still here and reporting!! Thanks for writing.

Congratulations on the house! I just replaced all the doorknobs in the house and painted the 2 exterior doors. It cost me $500 for doorknobs, but probably saved me $6,000.00 on new doors! Welcome to the joys of homeownership.

Can't wait to read more about your triumphant return!

I am also hoping beyond hope that the Parisian Breakfast comes back! Between all of the wonderful carbs and bottomless mimosas it is a great way to start a day!

I was really looking forward to trying The Wave on my next trip and then it goes and gets a refurbishment on me!
I hope the downtime is worth it! We have enjoyed The Wave many times.

If any of the special meals at CG come back (brunch, Celebration at the Top) we will likely try for a reservation!

And thanks for the congrats! Good for you for DIY-ing!

I love when you all mention cheese, as it has been my favourite food since I was a little kid. 😁

At school when I was about 8 we had to do a journal and record our favourite things, literally every other kid wrote chips (fries) and I put cheese, lol.

By the way just binge read your California report @bee as we have booked for next year and wanted your tips.

Looking forward to your trip.
