it's all about the CHEESE!! :geek:

I love when you all mention cheese, as it has been my favourite food since I was a little kid. 😁

At school when I was about 8 we had to do a journal and record our favourite things, literally every other kid wrote chips (fries) and I put cheese, lol.

By the way just binge read your California report @bee as we have booked for next year and wanted your tips.

Looking forward to your trip.

Looks like we need to start a Magicians Cheese Club! 🧀

You may have noticed the candle. Rudy lit it and M and I decided we needed to wish for something and blow it out together. We also determined we had to wish for the same thing and therefore we had to tell each other what we were wishing for and agree upon the answer. That's how anniversary candles work, right? :hilarious: Anyway, we were both thinking of the same thing and we counted to three and blew the candle out together. #notababy

This is from an old 2019 TR (not that long ago but SEEEEEMS so long ago...wonder why). We got our wish! 🏠

We are 50 days out and it feels really weird not to be adjusting the FPs we made ten days ago.

We did just order some new sunscreen and socks for Disney. Very exciting...

M's parents visited us last week and saw our house for the first time. Oh yeah, and they saw us for the first time since late 2019! They are planning to meet us for part of the trip but as usual have a "wing-it" type attitude and haven't made any resort reservations. I hope they can find something they like for a decent price with the current demand for travel.

We are officially 40 days out! We have been going through our stuff to evaluate what we need to buy for the trip.

Our swimsuits still fit ( 🎉 ) so we don't need to purchase new ones. I may buy a nicer swimsuit coverup though, since we have our cabana day and I will presumably want to wear one while I'm not actually swimming.

We bought a couple new pairs of capri leggings for our park days. We also bought a few new t-shirts for the parks.

For ladies only (or guys if you want, I don't care!):
We recently discovered the brand SheFit for sports bras. They are super-adjustable and they really hold the girls in place, even when running! We each ordered one bra but we like them so we'll get at least one more each.

We bought some Bombas socks (I typed Boma initially, Freudian slip!) and they are soooooo comfortable!

We are on the hunt for a park backpack. We have usually gone without a bag or with just a small one, but it will be convenient to have things like water bottles, umbrellas, and sunscreen in the backpack. We might get one with a clear pocket in front to display some of our Disney pins. In fact we might just get a completely clear one so we can see everything inside it and find things easily.

I have started breaking in my Snow White Disneybound shoes. We are sloooooowly getting back into running after not really running since pre-covid days. There is a small park about a ten minute walk from our house that was recently renovated; a lap around the park is about a quarter mile and there are also diagonal paths through the park for running, so we can have a ten minute walking warmup to the park, then run/jog whatever distance once we get there, and then have a ten minute cooldown walking back to the house. I wore my yellow shoes to the park a few days ago and if we had stayed out any longer I would have needed Bandaids for blisters.

I am also going to get some red glasses for the Snow White look. I used to wear contacts pretty much 100% of the time, but lately my eyes have been getting too dry so I've been wearing glasses. My usual ones these days are these:

But I think solid red will work better for Snow so I am thinking about these:

M is going to paint her nails on one hand pink and on the other blue for Aurora. I'll probably just go with red, though I may attempt some nail art.

I found a lot of very inexpensive disney nail decals on Etsy - while heavily Mickey and Minnie, I think there were some Princess choices as well.
Thanks! I have gotten really into stamping lately (my birthday was in December and M got me some stamping plates and polish...and then I needed to buy myself some more :joyfull: ) so I may go with stamping, but I will look into decals as well!

We are now the proud owners of these pins thanks to a ShopDisney sale for Disney Visa cardholders:

About the transparent backpack -- If a park guest has one of these, does security still "inspect" the inside contents (the same as a regular fabric backpack or purse, etc.)? I was just thinking that it might be faster for people to enter the parks, if all security had to do was a visual scan of the inside contents. (Yours pictured above is the first see-through backpack I've seen, so that's why I was wondering about this.)

Guests walk through the new security scanners wearing their backpacks, purses, etc. No individual searching of belongings. The process is very fast! The item that will set off the alarm is an umbrella, which you are advised to hold out in front of you. If the sensor goes off, a guest is sent to a table where items are hand-searched.

Oh, that's good to know -- much faster process all around! :)

Thank you for this! We are planning to bring UV-blocking umbrellas so perhaps one of us will go through with the backpack and one with the umbrellas. Do you know if metal water bottles will set it off?

So The Wave is holding breakfast in California Grill during the closure! We have a reservation for our MK day. Right now the plan is to go to the park early, stay for a couple hours, walk back for late breakfast/brunch, then maybe go back to the park or have a break in the room if we need it. That same day we have an early dinner at Cítricos so at some point we’ll change and then go to dinner, then go back to the park until close probably.

We would really prefer to go on our resort moving day, but the restaurant is closed that day! I wonder if some special event is planned on these days??

Switched some meals around. We now have breakfast at The Wave at the Top™️ on our resort day…on the same day we have California Grill reserved for dinner. :hilarious: Has anyone else eaten in CG twice in a day?

We also switched our late ‘Ohana breakfast to our MK day. We will go to the park at opening, monorail to the Poly for our feast, then either monorail back to MK for a few more rides or (more likely) go back to the resort for a nap.

They should not.
Thank you!!

ONE MONTH AWAY DAY!!!

My red Snow White glasses came! I spent quite some time contemplating how to “Wilson” myself while still showing the glasses (Pls ignore dirty mirror lol) :hilarious:

I wear that shirt all the time too!

edit: glasses look awesome!
Thank you!

The good news: new swim cover fits well and is cute.

The bad news: RIP Mickey sunglasses. I tried to repair them with superglue and it worked for about a week, but they came apart again and I’m afraid there is no hope for the future. It’s hard to tell but there is a crack in the frame above where the right lens should go. I got these on my 2018 scooter trip when I realized I had left my sunglasses at home.

So I will have to find some new ones somewhere. We still have four weeks so we’ll see!

I don't think I've mentioned Food and Wine at all in this PTR! Normally the festival is a big focus of our late summer/early fall trips but there is honestly so much going on with this trip that F&W has been pushed aside in my mind. But I am changing that now! Here are some of the dishes (and drinks of course!) I am excited about. All photos from Disney Food Blog.
