According to the cover art of the 50th anniversary book Chip & Dale are ONE statue in the Hub of the MK. Should be interesting to see which statues have more than one character.

Are we sure they are all characters? Like, could one be a statute of Walt Disney?

I’m curious if they will do live action characters like Mary Poppins or Captain Jack. I could see like action ones that aren’t real people (e.g. R2-D2/C-3P0, Vader, Chewbacca, Yoda, something like Groot & Rocket (can’t think of anyone else from Marvel in that vein who can be used at WDW)).

I'm going to go with the theory that they don't use any live action human characters (no Jack Sparrow or Mary Poppins, etc) and that they don't use any attraction-specific characters (no Big Al, Jose, Hitchhiking Ghosts, etc - except Figment). If they use one statue to represent Marvel, it will be Baby Groot (it's the only character they can use east of the Mississippi).

Wouldn't it be cool if the statues were actually large and there was one mounted outside each attraction that it corresponded to?
So the Golden Statues would actually tie to the anniversary of the park, not just random Disney characters?
Disneyland did Golden attraction vehicles...which at least gave it some historical context.
This whole 50th Anniversary seems to be focused on general Disney properties, and NOT the subject of the actual anniversary....Like Celebrating Christmas with "All Holidays" and decorating with Easter Eggs, American Flags, Shamrocks and pumpkins...

I wonder if the American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will be closely scrutinizing these statues looking for possible infringement of their patented statue...

This was the brilliance of the Disneyland 50th anniversary - the golden ride vehicles and, more importantly, the Remember Dreams Come True fireworks (the best show Disney has ever produced) were love letters to the park itself.
