Guardians Review

I got a couple weeks to go until I give it a shot, but so curious now how I'm gonna do on it. Cause star tours gets me a touch meh and even if I get stuck for a bit in Seas at the EAC area I gotta close my eyes until I get past it-trying to look at those bubbles going up the wall..:hungover:

I wonder if anyone has done an eyes open the whole ride vs eyes closed the whole ride and the difference they felt.

I get M:S Orange. You're spinning in a centrifuge at high speed to simulate gravity. But it's not like WDW doesn't have other spinning rides. You have Dumbo, Astro Orbiters, Aladdin, Tea Cups, Triceratops Spin, Alien Swirling Saucers. You'd think that Disney never had rides that turn you around. For goodness sake, people. Get a grip.

Majority is over half. Which is the amount polled by ride operations after riding that reported feeling queasy.
I have noticed it more on Disney sites then any other park sites I visit on people having motion sickness on rides. I have theories on why. Just wondering why you think that is

Have you visited this site recently? It's all doom and gloom. That doesn't necessarily mean a differing point of view is pixie duster. There is always a legitimate place for criticism. It's that the automatic response to everything and I mean EVERYTHING is negative now.

See, the video about CMs being surprised they were picked to be on the opening cast for Tron. It's "cringe worthy". "It's an act". "Who really wants to be the CM of that."

My question had nothing to do with doom and gloom. It's not just Guardians but there is many other rides that I see people comment on having motion sickness riding them. Any other park sites I visit that's not Disney related I rarely if ever see people having those issues.

Four of those rides are not even in the same league as what we're talking about with Guardians, or M:S, or the Tea Cups.

Someone told you what they heard from ride operations itself based on their polling from those who rode and what they felt after riding. You can choose to believe what Ride Ops said, or you can choose your current approach and stick your head ... somewhere else... and believe whatever you want to believe. But you're going to be called out for it, and rightfully so. This isn't conjecture, or third-hand information from people who live 2000 miles away - It's directly from Ride Ops.

I can tell you first-hand that I felt uneasy after riding. I would not have willingly chosen to ride again that day.

I’d definitely not try it eyes shut. Your body needs some sense of reference even if it’s moving strangely.

I read if you keep your eyes more focused on the track, it helps.
I'm excited to ride it, then I read here and I don't want to ride it, then I get excited to ride it, then I read here... :D

I've never felt sick on a roller coaster. The worst I ever felt was Smugglers Run and I just closed my eyes.
I can handle spinning if it's not insane, but funnily enough, I felt sick while we were eating at Three Bridges. We were right on the water and watching the water move up and down in juxtaposition to the railing being still, I felt sick!

I've taken Bonine successfully on a very rocky cruise and it worked amazingly well while everyone else around us was dropping like flies. I'm going to try taking it this trip and just bite the bullet and go on Guardians. I'd be mad at myself if it's something I'll really like and I skipped it because I was nervous about being nauseous.

the way I see it:

as for motion/movement Rewind is the 5th most intense ride Disney has created.

1 Mission Space
2 Everest
3 Rock N Roller(s)
4 Tower Terror(s)
5 Rewind

next tier are:
Test Track
Incredicoaster
Journey to Center Earth
Space Mountain(s)

(***I don't consider Slush n Gusher and Summit Plummet rides***)

Remember Splash Mountain had the partnership with Ziploc to give away sandwich bags?

Epcot's new partnership is with CVS:

I got on and booked a time. Unfortunatley I had a lot of internet issues with my phone and missed our time. I thought we a missed riding it. HOWEVER, after talking to a CM they said they will let us go on anyway. So we headed over ther and told the CM we were really late. They let us go on.

A W E S O M E!!!! Loved it. No queasy feeling at all. Great ride. Wish I had time to go on again but couldn't.

I've ridden it 8 times in 6 days now and I really rate this ride.

Have gotten every song other than Tears For Fears...the one i really want out of all 6.

Was speaking to one of the staff controlling the ride and asked if we were able to pick the song...he said it's random and that none of the staff are able to control it - Although he did say Tear For Fears was the rarist of all the songs. So it looks like some are more possible than others.

I've got 2 tries left (maybe more) before i head back home on Saturday.
I got Tears for Fears on my one and only ride.

My husband can’t handle most rides that spin and he has bouts of vertigo, which made us almost skip this ride. But he had no issues at all riding it - he didn’t think it was that great, though. I loved it!

It really is dependant on focusing your view on what they are directing you to look at. I will never go on one of the free spinning coasters. This was completely bearable if you're not trying to look in odd directions.

I’m sure there are a good number of people having issues with it. We noticed several benches along the way out.

Ok so went on it yesterday. Totally fine, I was in row 4 and was able to see the track ahead…didn’t stare at the moon.
Got disco inferno and had a lot of fun!

Like EE, Space Mountain gets to my head cause it rattles it around, but with Guardians you’re just flying around back and forth.
