So, I finally went on Mission Breakout...

And... I think it's better than DCA's Tower of Terror. It's strangely different with its pacing, but I appreciate that the actual ride system is utilized more. It successfully makes it feel like an actual different ride and not a half-hearted clone.

I like it a lot, I rode it more than I've ever felt inclined to ride DCA's or WDSP's Tower of Terror.

I bought the t-shirt.

I don't think I want DHS's to change, but I am very glad DCA's did.

I feel exactly the same way you do! I'm glad the WDW and Tokyo versions are the way they are, but I love that they changed the DCA version.

I know you are being facetious. But ya, they are more immersive than dioramas with a fan.

I also think the Rocket pre-show room is one of Disney’s best pre-shows anywhere. But the Twilight Zone one was already great!

No they re not. I can watch TV at home. Do you also like the screens better than the starfield effect? The screens don’t work for this attraction in anyway. It just feels like a drop ride with a Tv turned on with music playing. Its probably the worst offender when it comes to an attraction where a screen is the focal point.

The pre show is fine and the AA is great but I found the TOT pre show more repeatable.

The star field effect was great! The ‘bathroom mirror’ was hookey for me. The generator scene works ok. The parallax on the screens is cool and effective... and unfortunately I just really like the guardians.

I won’t kick the hornets nest any further than I have, but I enjoyed myself immensely.

I credit mission cheapout with the beginning of the fall after the rise of DCA.

I could forgive MV3D and SoC being removed / replaced, but after Warehouse Fortress Power Plant came RCT2 Pier and Avengers College Campus. Shameless marketing ploys that are equal to or less than what they replaced. I will never enjoy mission cheapout because I don't appreciate story and effects being replaced with screens and advertisement. That and the building is disgusting.

I’m glad you had a good time! I also have a good time on it lol. Maybe that’s what I’m missing - just liking the brand. I just think objectively as themed entertainment fans it’s hard for me to understand how GOTG:MB can be considered better than TOT when you consider show.

I think a couple big factors that play into it are also the fact that people consider one less clone a good thing, even if the clone was better than what replaced it and then the ride system being reprogrammed to its full potential. For someone like yourself who doesn’t live near a Disney park and travels a lot I can see how the former could appeal to you.

The old Hollywood theme + Haunted Hotel + Twilight Zone just felt inherently more Disney as ironic as that sounds. As Disney owns Marvel but not CBS. But we re not talking about acquiring companies here. We’re talking about the stuff that makes up a brand that’s been around for almost a Century.

EDIT: oh ya forgot to mention the it’s deemed expendable by many because it doesn’t live up to the TOT in DHS. To that I always say “looks like POTC at MK’s gotta go.”

i've said it before, but it's overlooked how well m:b actually serves it source
... brainless whiz-bang pop shlock and little else, where fun supersedes all

diz used to look down on uni for doing that

I've always found Mission BO to be a very Universal Studios type of attraction. Its fun, themeing and story are passable, but the thing lacks magic or heart. Its like a variation on Transformers for me. TOT was the best attraction at the Resort IMO. To lose something I found to be such an achievement was a huge let down, especially after DCA's rebirth. I haven't been back to DCA in quite awhile as the current attractions just don't deliver on the Disney magic to me. They're fun, but they're just a more polished version of Knotts or Universal. If DCA was $50-$70 a ticket, I might be more inclined to visit.

Bobby Chappy looks up to cheap spending and product placement. I feel the same way as you and it's really sad what Disney has done in the last couple of years. I am disappointed in all of their newest offerings - HSM, MBO, PP, SatW.. haven't seen SWL yet.
