The ride looks really fun from what they're showing, and I'm glad the ride isn't all screens.

And wow, does that Rocket AA look really good. Thankfully the inside looks a lot better than the exterior.

Only thing that's not the best IMO is that first pre-show video. Seems a bit too movie-esque for what's supposed to be happening. Still, I'm happy with what I've seen.

Some around here will say that they obviously paid him to say all that.

Anyone who says that a glowing review comes from Disney buying off a blogger is obviously on Universal's payroll!

Being given early access by Disney is a huge benefit to any site that gets it. If the report is negative, the invite will not be extended in the future. Not saying the review is wrong, but for invited early access reviewers, the outcome will always be the same.

I've seen this play out first hand with Disney.

I've seen The DIS be invited to the very early Pandora preview and their site is full of negative reviews of WDW.

So... not true.

Yeah, not true at all. I've seen plenty of media first hand accounts of different offerings that were critical of Disney, and they still get invited to the newer events. Please let us know of ONE media site that posted a negative review of a Disney offering after being invited to a media event, and was then not invited back for any other media event.

Agreed in part, although this is a media site (IGN) and a reviewer who very frequently is given access to premieres, tv shows etc, and whose job in part it is to be an actual paid critic. Not a blogger, a paid critic. I think the effect can be a bit much for a blogger, but someone like Eric who attends the Star Wars premieres or for principle shooting, is less likely to be woo'd on principle of an invite to a Disney parks media event. They are also a huge media site that wouldn't be afraid of stepping on the mouses' toes a little bit.

I honestly was really doubting that Rohde was the right fit for the Marvel portfolio. I take it back.

He certainly gets it and isn't just phoning it in for the cheque. He seemed a little unenthralled his first task with the portfolio was an overlay, but I can't wait to see what he has at D23 with a new build. Pretty much every fear about the interior wound up being wrong.
