Shortcuts are almost to be expected on a rush job like this...

Also, maybe its just me, but that would seem TOTALLY un-Disney for them to just get it up and functioning for a premiere date deadline with the intention of then "completing" it later on. If its not 100% done and working, they shouldn't open it.
Really? Disney always seems to change things up a bit. Here and there, little updates, changes, pluses.

Well changes and updates are one thing. Those usually come years later after the initial drive for the attraction has died down. But to open the attraction with an 85% complete exterior just to open meet a set date seems like bad show. But then again, I'm not the casual fan who wouldn't notice or care one way or the other.

Not to mention using such an irresponsible and hate filled word as, "Meh".

I've reflected on it, this project is turning into lipstick on a pig. Some people actually like the attempt to pretty the pig up, many just see it as an even more ridiculous looking pig.

But let's not kid ourselves, it has always been a pig. Those who haven't realized that and long for a return are kidding themselves that this was ever truly befitting of DCA in either form.

I still prefer the DCA version over the Florida original.

I agree on the lipstick on a pig and used those exact same words a few pages ago. But I have to disagree on your last statement. It may have been a pig but it was a slightly better looking Pig that fit much better in its surroundings.

The exterior of GOTG: MB is an obvious step down because it's retheming a purpose built structure that was designed for a very SPECIFIC concept.

Now instead of a specific concept we have a muddy watered down concept that consists of a power plant/ oil refinery/ museum. A respected imagineer explaining the location and concept of the new attraction by using the word KABLOOM! And windows being painted over. I won't get into the pipes and color scheme.

Let's be real here. This is cheap and rushed and it's making me expect even less for the interior and actual ride. Which may be good because if my expectations are rock bottom, I'll enjoy the ride even more. I knew all along this was going to be "addition" by subtraction. (Except for the new ride profiles which could be hit or miss and the randomized drop sequences) It was obvious considering the absurdity of the decision and timeline they gave themselves to do it.

I don't suppose you've ever heard stories of the opening of Disneyland? It was a mess. Lots of shortcuts taken and it really wasn't ready for opening day, but they had a deadline.

And that was all under St. Walt.

2 wrongs never make a right. Didn't your momma teach you that?

Didn't your momma teach you reading comprehension and context? I didn't say it was right. But you go ahead and keep knocking over that straw man, he doesn't put up much of a fight, now, does he?

I was pointing out that claims of how this is so un-Disney like is not true. From the beginning high ideals crashed against realities of budget, time, and mistakes.

Mr. Sweatpants can speak for himself, but I'm going to suppose that he's fully conversant with that very, very famous and obvious history, and is referring to a much more recent period in park operations. St. Walt's time is irrelevant to this discussion.

What does the opening of the first Disney park over six decades ago have to do with Disney being cheap and quick in the now 21st century with an attraction in its 8th (?) park?
