Outside of Epcot, I would say the rides that are better at wdw than DLR are the Haunted Mansion, Splash Mountain and BTMRR. The Tower of Terror now is better in Florida.

I think there are a lot of different experiences not possible at DLR that sway people towards thinking WDW as being a better destination, but honestly of the shared rides I would say that really only Mansion, Splash, and Tower are superior IMO, especially the latter two. I would say that Florida's Tower of Terror is the best overall version worldwide, hands down, and you could make the argument that Mansion is as well. I could also see someone arguing that WDW has the better Jungle Cruise but I am personally indifferent to Jungle Cruise in all forms :) Space for me is a wash because I like aspects of both rides.

BTM I find to be almost identical in ride experience, but the setup in Cali is interesting to me because it's so different from the other versions. The improved finale in California is a plus but it's not so good that it renders the others invalid.

I am mixed on the unique attractions. Some are fantastic (World Showcase Pavilions, many at Animal Kingdom), some are more interesting for their ride systems than their actual content (some Epcot attractions), and there are a few that just don't really appeal to me (most of the rest of Epcot). But unlike the other resorts getting on attractions is not always the best use of your time. There are so many other things that you could be doing and that is what makes WDW both wonderful and frustrating!

HM and TOT being better at WDW seems to be the general consensus. But BTMRR even without the DL upgrade? I think I might actually enjoy DL's Splash more. I like that it's darker, faster, and I find the music more enjoyable.

* I have not actually ridden WDWs Splash Mountain.

I think it is the two person log and more scenery that I like over Disneyland's version. I kind of like the extra little scenes mk's big thunder has long the track. Dl's explosions are better though. I like DL's SM because of the music and track design. MK's version reminds me of the Matterhorn.

Pirates sucks at the MK.

By DLs SM do you mean Space or Splash. I'm assuming Splash?

It depends on what people enjoy. The WDW Mansion has more scenes and some nice effects, but the cartoony new ending, the disjointed storytelling, and the wacky queue kind of make me favor the original slightly. I love animatronics, DL's Splash Mountain wins for me as it has so many more, plus I love the speed and tight feeling to the single file logs vs the more boat like design of WDW. WDW's Splash is a bit brighter through with more walls painted to look like sky.

I actually preferred the DCA TOT due to the darker tone, faster pace, and improved effects over the original, but the original version's corniness is much closer to the source material and the facade/queue is 10 times better in Florida.

Most of the attractions are better in one way, but worse in another; so they balance out. Buzz Lightyear is a great example. The ride track in WDW features changes in elevation which helps the experience, but the guns are fixed to the car which hurts the experience. Midway Mania has a much better queue/loading area in WDW, but the DLR version still features the Mr Potatoe Head Animatronic.

Our biggest take away from WDW was that most of the attractions were bigger, but much more stale and dated feeling. The resort seemed very stuck in the 80's as far as design and tech where the DLR receives more frequent updates and plussing of attractions.

Isn't it a genderless saying? "Not to be that guy" - "not to be that girl" doesn't quite have the same ring to it.

I could also be gender fluid if you're into that thing, but it'll cost you extra.

I'm sorry, I just thought that my whole image of you had been the wrong gender all this time.

You see, I picture us becoming the best of friends and tiptoeing through the tulips together at Disneyland. Prank calling Bob together and laughing to the wee hours of the morn.

I saw that all flash before my eyes when I thought you were a MAN.

Sounds fun guys, but please don't tiptoe IN the tulips!!

This would be the end of Disney parks as we know them. If they handled every area of the park in the same careless and sloppy way they are doing the GOTG overlay, it would end everything that sets Disney above the rest.

And ya screens Yaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwnnnn.

***unless they are integrated beautifully like with Shangahai's POTC**

Maybe there is a backhanded strategy to this all along. If they continue this approach the parks will be less crowded (which seems to be what everyone wants) and the forums will be packed which should delight almost everyone here. Now if Disney could just figure out a way to charge people for posting in forums......
