Which is why I said the system would be like Time Traveler. How much they choose to spin/rotate being another matter.
Or an Omni mover that's averaging 25mph . They are turning people towards stuff not spinning then. Men in Black ride vehicles have the ability to spin on the yaw axis but they only really do it for a really short section.

So... Just a random thought. Parking got brand new cones that say "EC Parking". Geoff Morrell tags a parody account of Epcot Center. A lot of the merchandise has "EPCOT Center" on it. With a higher focus on the neighborhoods and pavilions, could we see the park renamed to EPCOT Center either for the 40th or for the completion of the overhaul?

I don't really care what they call it...that is way down on the priority list for me...I care about them fixing the destruction, adding meaningful capacity within the established thematic areas of the park... Just re-naming areas of the park does nothing for the guest experience except make it more confusing...

Well they also spin every time another vehicle shoots you. I feel like it definitely gets it’s mileage out of spinning.

At this point, that would just be lipstick on the pig. But… I’d be lying if I said I wouldn’t be happy if they did.

It could be that they need a two letter abbreviation to designate parks: MK, AK, HS, EC.

The 'C' could be part of the abbreviation representing the beginning of the second syllable: -Cot. Or they're just using Epcot Center as the abbreviation out of convenience.

Also, on a lot of Disney internal docs and procedures, a place or building will retain its original name even though it has clearly been renamed (even several times over). Just like some people can't bear to stop calling DHS "MGM."

ORRRR.... There's a long-running secret plan to officially rename EPCOT (again) and they've gotten disparate elements of the operations to start dropping hints and there's an award for whoever spots it first. Contact Disney and claim your prize!!! ;)

As someone else said above, the Time Traveler rotation is unpowered (and has riders facing in both directions since it spins). This will be a powered, controlled rotation, so I'm not sure it's really comparable to Time Traveler other than the fact the cars aren't completely stationary.

I'm not trying to be argumentative -- I just get the impression that they're very different systems.
Gotcha - while yes Time Traveler you are facing both directions, I've ridden it several times and thought it was powered, controlled rotations. I'm no engineer so I can't say for certainty but when the rotations are consistent and start before the the ride vehicle has gone down it's first hill or launch, I assumed it was controlled by the ride vehicle itself and not physics/inertia.

Forbidden Journey? because it sounds a lot more like Escape from Gringott's

I hope not. The initial part of Gringott's is pretty good, after that is it almost exactly the same as Spiderman
or Transformers, except on a coaster track. Given the way the ride vehicles will move and the size and scale
of the ride, I think the only way to compare GotG to Gringott's would be to say it is Gringott's on serious steroids.

I'm not a big coaster person for multiple reasons but Everest isn't really intense/scary. I've never been on Rock and have no interest in going on it, but Everest is fun.

The only real issue with Everest is the part where it goes backwards -- that gave me horrible motion sickness last time I was on it, to the point that I may not ever ride again.
Same here. After that first bad ride I tried making sure my head was against the headrest and closed my eyes during the backwards part. Haven't had an issue since.

Not to be that Marvel nerd, but does anyone else feel that the loading station feels much more like an Iron Man attraction as opposed to a Guardians one? All that flaming cherry red and tiny circular lights? And the big circular red lights on the ceiling that look like arc reactors? It all looks cool, sure, but not only does it not evoke the Guardians, all I can think about is Tony Stark. I get wanting to reference one of the premier Marvel heroes, but I hope Disney isn't setting themselves up for failure when Tony doesn't show up.

If they so desperately want IP for space mountain Id much rather have Wall-e than Lightyear. Enough toy story already!
Well, with lightyear its not about the toys. Could have it be a ride through space like it is now just with an upgraded coaster and some new visuals. I can't see them including anything from the past toy story movies.

Maybe some of the load station design is recycled from the Iron Man coaster at Disney Studios Paris (also opening this summer)?
