I had the EXACT same issue with the empty "state" drop down. It's so annoying.... But I got through it. That D23 website isn't the smoothest...It took me and hour to work through. I used a UK card and UK address and it all went through ok. I was trying on my laptop for ages, and it just wouldn't let me get past, so then I just switch to my iPhone safari browser instead to purchase Gold, and it worked (I think it still took two attempts though). I also selected the address that it pre-fills for you as you start typing (not sure if that makes a difference).
So yeah my advice, is try on a different device/browser.
Good luck!

Thanks for your help, by the way! I finally managed to create an account haha. Weirdly enough, it was using the auto-complete option that allowed me to bypass the 'State' requirement - just like you said! What a weird website.

I know my chances are slim for D23 tickets, but it's still nice to even have the chance to try! Anyone have any tips for this kind of thing? How did the D23 previews work for Remy - were people entered into a virtual queue randomly (i.e., Ticket Master) or was it based on how quickly they clicked the link, etc?

Good to hear!
If you click on the ticket link, it looks like they're using queue-it.net to manage the queue.

"When Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT begins, you will be assigned a random place in line (alongside everyone else who also arrives before Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT begins)."

So when the time hits ZERO, I guess everyone waiting gets a random place in the queue. Seems fair enough.

I wonder if that's due to a lack of interest or the large number of slots available to reserve
I doubt it's lack of interest. For it being a rollercoaster that spins, you are already eliminating a fraction of riders who don't like or can't handle thrill or spinning. Maybe they're waiting for reviews of other CMs first this coming week.

Maybe they’re trying to coordinate with CM friends or family too.

The vehicles turn on a second axis but they probably don’t spin. Mission Space, Space Ranger Spin, Primeval Whirl spin/spinned. This is just turning.
How is this different? The spinning of Mission: SPACE is programmed. Space Ranger Spin is user controlled but still controlled. Would Space Ranger Spin no longer “spin” f it became preprogrammed instead of user controlled?

All tickets for the D23 preview sold out at 1:08 PM. I had one minute to go when I received the "sold out" message. :arghh:
Ah no. Sorry to hear that!
I managed to get 2 tickets myself. When I joined the queue, it said I had a 12 minute wait on my phone (although it ended up being less than 5), and an hour wait on my laptop, so it's a good thing I got in the queue with 2 devices.

Yeah. I wouldn’t put Buzz in the category but there’s a difference between a vehicle turning different directions versus “spinning” which is more likely to cause vertigo/nausea.

"SPIN" is an ambiguous term. The earth spins, dryers spin, the front shopping cart wheels spin as wheels and spin in direction.

It would be better to distinguish rides as "free spinning" (Primeval Whirl) and "controlled spinning" (HM, Buzz, etc...).

GotG:CR will have controlled spinning. There will be no free spinning.
