I think we need to stop believing it will blend in. It won't and it will be an eyesore to those to cherish Epcot like most do here but to causal guest, it won't make a difference. Sad, but its the current state of Disney Executives making terrible decisions.
What is interesting is that those executives see that the only way to beat UNI at their own game, they simply need to be fractionally better vs. UNI who has to work hard to map to the Disney standard. That has made them lazy and ignorant of the company standards built by the foundation that Walt laid down with his own hands. This building is a shining example of doing it the Universal way. Honestly, both IO and US feel very disjointed and confusing to me from a theme perspective. Epcot has always defined order by separation of its two halves and clearly defining its subplots throughout each area. The update of UoE to GoTG only serves to confuse that order by laying down something that makes no sense thematically and may not be as visually appealing or consistent from either WS or FW. It is ignorance of theme and motivated by turnstile results and just looks lazy.

I think Epcot is in the pre-teen phase of being awkward as it starts to go through transformations. I'd expect to see more characters in the countries, and more emphasis on excitement and adventure in future world. Probably a re-theme of existing attractions on the left side of future world, probably finding ways to incorporate more existing stories into them(how long til Wall-E takes over Mission Space?). I'm not totally sold on it, or in love with it. I think they are just as confused and theres a bit of an internal battle on what direction to take.

and those palm trees only appear that high from one pinpoint on the walkway... the structure is indeed visible from every angle of the park...as you get closer to it, it is harder to see, but from World Showcase, it is very visible and very very tall. They could never plant enough palm trees to cover, and the building looks to be well over 100' high...Palm trees dont really get that tall. Hopefully they will come up with a beautiful facade design to make it blend in, but given their track record lately, expect it to be painted light blue to blend with the sky and that's it...Like the Soarin' theaters...

So upon installation, the palm trees are going to be right around the height of Spaceship Earth, and the foliage will be as dense as that of your average farmed Christmas tree?

Yes, it's Florida, but palm trees can't hide everything.

My post was mostly a joke.
But some palm trees, and some façade that goes along with the rest of the mirrored and metallic theme would be my guess.
Hopefully they won't clad it in GotD crud like they did with the Disneyland ToT.

After seeing this in person today, yes it is tall, stupidly tall for where it is, but from the parking lot the trees that are there now or that are left do a fairly good job of surrounding it, if they leave them be that is. The only view of the building that really bothered me that I think will be an eyesore is from across world showcase, over by the American Adventure, Japan, etc, that is where it looks horribly mammoth and sticks out. From within the rest of the park it didn't seem as bad as it seemed here online.

I’m at the Disney Springs area Best Western Lake Buena Vista right now, and I just took this photo of the Guardians coaster construction. Its height and size are more noticeable when you view it from a distance like this.

So now we know that Disney’s evil plan is to block views of SSE from DS resorts. ;)

This pic does clearly show just how huge the building is compared to SSE and the rest of FW. Thanks for sharing.
