The forced perspective of the Eiffel Tower is completely ruined by the swans.

You're looking at it wrong. The forced perspective makes the swans look freakin' huge!!

Stupidity? Mistakes? A joke? Revenge on angry boss?
From http://www.yesterland.com/swandolphin.html

"His basic concept for the Dolphin was that it was an island formed by a sudden cataclysmic event—an upheaval by an underwater volcano or earthquake. When the island emerged from under the sea, it lifted dolphins out of the water, and these are the dolphins on the roof. The banana leaves on the side of the building are the tropical plants growing on the island. The mysterious “black box” was never intended for monorail usage; it was the heart of the island, which burst open from the sheer force of the events. Water went spilling down the outside of the building into that “dolphin fillet” [two-dimensional dolphin] pool, and then splashed over to the Swan. The railings and the curving landscape connecting the two hotels indicate waves moving from the Dolphin and splashing up along the side of the Swan. These are the waves that you see on the side of the Swan. Two swans were so entranced by this natural phenomenon that they alighted to watch it up close—and were turned to stone."

“Basic concept?” Haha

You can see plenty of the sides and backsides of FW buildings from World Showcase. Every time someone complains about the fully architecturally designed Swan and Dolphin being seen from WS, I tell them to turn around and look at the big ol' slab of TestTrack building hulking over Mexico.
Wut!?

WoM isn't a big hulking show building ruining views. It is a gorgeous, magnificently themed structure meant to be enjoyed from all directions! You are supposed to see it!

Just like all the other FW structures. Perhaps with the exception of the Land. maybe Seas too, the volume and form of the buildings aren't meant to be hidden, but to be admired, the very architecture sustains the theme. Minus the post-Epcotalypse ones, from the misplaced Soarin' to the threat of an eleven story high building hovering over FW's serene architectural landscape.

Yes. The Eiffel Tower in France is one area of WDW where the forced perspective never worked for me. I'm not sure if it is the Swan, though since it happens from other directions as well. Instead of looking like the Eiffel tower in the distance, it just looks like a small Eiffel tower on top of the buildings to me.
