In the past couple of weeks, the last 1-2 hours of park operations it's been a walk-on. Lots of trains are being sent out with seats that could be filled out with guests.

Hoping they add a single-rider option as well someday. No idea how, but it would be awesome if they could.

Didn't they start opening up ROTR to standby late in the day when they were still doing the VQ?

Yeah on slower days this was an option. For whatever reason, they never really did it for GOTG and GOTG is more reliable/higher through-put than ROTR.

I don't mind boarding groups during the first few months of ops, but there's a point where the ride is no longer heavily demanded and a stand-by line is better option.

do they often sell out of Lightening Lane or whatever the paid option is called?

Here's the Individual Lightning Lane availability over the past 30 days via Thrill Data. The grey color indicates no return times were available.

From what I remember for Rise, they switched to standby only if they ended up calling all of the distributed BG's for the day.

But for GOTG, they rarely get in the BG 200's anymore, which is where the maximum usually is. The average is BG 180, which is a decrease from when it would reach BG 200+ in its first couple months.

Thanks. So I take it you need to buy first thing in the morning or good chance you will not get it

It almost never sells out first thing in the morning.

While it does typically sell out eventually, it's usually available until at least mid-morning and often well into the afternoon.

If you don't really care about when you ride, you can just wait and get one of the afternoon boarding groups for free because they're generally easy to get. There are occasional days where they go quickly, but on most days they're available for hours.

Apparently the holiday overlay is not returning this year?

Although the source of the tweet has now been deleted, and the comments suggest that the recent news dump from Disney today excluding the overlay is a sign that it's not returning.

IMHO the holiday tracts they chose last year were lackluster and actually detracted from the total ride experience.

Looks like it - unless it is to be announced later. The Holiday Remix isn't listed in the EPCOT highlights below.

Yeah, mentioning the Glimmering Greenhouses and not the GotG Christmas overlay would make it seem that way.

I wasn’t a fan of it personally, they should have just gone with classics like Last Christmas or Simply Having a Wonderful Christmastime rather than trying to do a song parody. Too much going on to hear the lyrics to Run Run Rocket.

Good - it was a horrible soundtrack, especially for first-time riders.

Should have been a mix of what's the "normal" soundtrack + an additional 2-3 Holidays songs, not a complete overlay.
My family is what your describing. Our first time going when Guardians was open was during Christmas time in 2022. So we only experienced the ride with the "Run Run Rocket" instead of the original songs. We are going this fall to finally experience it with the original songs for the first time. Is it much better with the original songs?

What is everyone's favorite songs to ride to? I see online that September seems to be the obvious choice and I can definitely see that. Some love Conga and others hate it. What does everyone think?
