A lot of changes. Same footprint - or larger - but very much brought up to date. Don't expect Communicore though. Do expect more M&G, retail and eating space but in a nicer environment. Say goodbye to the awful paint scheme too.

And possibly an attraction or two (including possibly the theatre show I mentioned in this thread originally planned for Energy. Possibly)
So no chance they will uncover the windows? At least that awful color scheme will be gone!

Also, would the attraction/show be located in the Innoventions section closest to UoE?

I hope this overlay turns out not to be true. It sounds like a colossal failure. It seems like such a bad idea that it just HAS to be in the works for Epcot!

Wow! That is kind of surprising. Is this what you were indicating when you said that the Innoventions areas were returning to an early 1990's status, which is a good thing?

I had been saying for the past few years at least that all of this was a big "plan" to "update" this entire resort for 2021. First NFL and the Hub, DTD to DS, DAK, then DHS and finally Epcot. Iger, for better or worse, is definitely leaving his imprint in Orlando. The resort has moved from original content to IP-focused entertainment, along with a major DVC expansion.

Also, thanks @marni1971 for your inside info. It is much appreciated! :)

I'd hope so. There would be some pretty substantial structural changes, traffic flow changes and the like.
Help me on this - is there still unused space on the East side where Character Spot used to be? Or did Mousegear absorb it at some time. thanks

More Marvel aside from GotG? Doubtful due to the contract. Guardians isn't covered by it.

Can still use Ghost Rider. Man-Thing. Probably Cloak & Dagger. Power Pack (except Franklin Richards). Maybe Blade.

I kid, mostly, but a well-done Power Pack movie would actually have theme park potential.

I still think some parts of that plan would be good, and we've already gotten some of it in modified forms.
Of course Time Racers replacing SSE is an abomination.

So how about this.... in that graphic:
1. Replace Ellen's with GotG. Leading Edge becomes the show you referenced and a GotG M&G.
2. Putting a modern Autopia by TT has always been a good idea, then ditch the one in MK for something new.
3. Future Mart = Mouse Gears, Cool Stuff = Club Cool and Fountainview
4. Internet Cafe = M&Gs
5. The Seas is Nemo instead of LM
6. Ditch the hedge maze and maybe the rollercoaster, move soarin on that map to where they actually built it.
7. Keep SSE instead of Time Racers
8. WoL is future exp., just like it says, when it happens: put the festival space in where it shows Home of the Future
9. Lots of trees and reworked main entryway and paths.

Voilà: new Discoveryland born from the Gemini project plan instead of current Future World

Cloak and Dagger are too married to Spider-man in my opinion
