This might have already been brought up, but it would be way cooler if they paint the outside of the building to look Guardians themed or like a space mural

And everyone would complain about that, too.

Given the fact that that guests can't get right up next to the building, I could see them doing something similar in concept to the backside of Everest. Some sort of design on the exterior that looks a bit better than a big blue box.

Unfortunately that is not true. Disney will win in a big way when MK, HS, and Epcot are number 1,2, and 3 on the world wide theme park attendance report starting in 2022.

They could have done that, but there is no evidence they will. There are no attachment points for theming, and there would be no-point in using the pre-painted panels if they were just going to paint something on them.

They can be painted, but like Expedition Everest it would be after the fact. Corrugated metal panels are not a great surface for a mural.

Only thing I know is a Diorama is not happening. The construction going on currently for the Railroad is only for a water retention pond (or something of that nature), not for any sort of building/structure.

Disneyland's Diorama just came out of refurb, maybe they were swapping parts with ones from UOE's?
