Great Movie Ride (and other rides) layout

I was looking at virtualearth.com at Disney World (who doesn't) and started wondering about the layouts of some of the rides. Specifically, The Great Movie ride looks like it is in a large, recangular building. So my question is, which scenes are where in that building? It looks like you probably go all the way to one end, then turn back. Which scene is the "turn around" scene?

And more generally speaking, is there anywhere out there where someone has gone through and made ride layouts relative to the building they are in?

You start "turning around" through 7 scenes: Alien, Indiana Jones, Anubis (Gangster/Bandit get fried), Horror, Tarzan, Casablanca, and Fantasia. the Western scene takes you to the back of the building and Oz/Finale take you back to the front.

What a cool picture. Really neat. This is the kind of thing I was talking about. Is there somehwere that more of these are available? Like the Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, Test Track, etc?

All I see is a red x for the picture, and the link doesn't work :veryconfu

But I'm at work right now, maybe my computer at home will at least pull up the picture.

In the meantime... can anyone repost the picture? Or post it in a different format? Also, is anyone else having trouble with the link?

It's probably just me. lol

EDIT - now I can see the picture! LOL :)
2nd EDIT - and now the link works!! Ha!

Isn't there some kind of switching involved with the Western/Cowboy section?
Like during peak times they can divert the ride vehicles to accomodate more.

Tks.

It has to do with different timing. The 2 cars will tour at different, very well planned, speeds. This way the "Cowboy" show happens for car 1 while car 2 gets "gangster". Cowboy then goes faster through the sets until right before Oz allowing Car 2 to catch back up.
(That is in no way the proper description, just a quick one.)

I have, they pop up as and when.

They`ve recently become the topic of something the Mouse Police are keeping an eye on ;)

I'll elaborate a little more for you, as you are half correct here.

Every day at The Great Movie Ride, there are 5 "sets" (vehicles or set of vehicles). There are 3 options to set the vehicles to: A (Western/Bandit), B: Gangster and C: Maintenance. In the track there are magnetic strips that when the vehicles pass them they activate the various scenes throughout the building. The vehicles follow a guide wire in the track and whichever option the vehicles are set to, they are automatically stopped at certain points (Load/Unload, Gangster, Western, Anubis, Oz, Finale). Look for dark squares in the track, those are where the vehicles get their batteries charged. If there are 2 vehicles in a set, the first one (Western/Bandit) goes faster so as to activate its version of the scene while the second vehicle is going half speed. Both vehicles get their show (Bandit and Gangster) at the same time. The Bandit goes full speed through Alien so the doors can close before the Gangster turns the corner in the Western scene. After the Bandit gets fried, the Tour Guide goes full speed until a certain point in Tarzan and goes half speed to Casablanca and stops (a vehicle is still in Oz) and waits for the green light and the second vehicle to catch up.

I know it's a lot of information. Just imagine getting trained with all the speed changes and trying to remember the script (both Western and Gangster versions)!!
