adding fuel to the fire.A house on my street had a search warrant executed on it about a week ago, Orange county cops everywhere... Looking for stolen props from Disney..

Not sure if the ones I saw were stolen, but there were a LOT of GMR props in the garage.. including a dozen or so of the footlight parade mannequins.

No. Redd is the Witch. They saved the Witch's clothes and broom, and her face. They re-clothed the animatronic and used Jane's face from the Tarzan Scene to transplant on Redd.

The Wicked Witch is one of the most significant achievements in the history of Audio Animatronics. As the first A100 Figure, I HAVE to believe she actually made it to the Archives. If anything from The Great Movie Ride was going to be preserved it would surely be her -- and the value in preserving her is surely much, much greater than the savings to be had in repurposing her for Redd. Especially since Redd was being duplicated for Anaheim, it's far easier to build 2 from scratch than to retrofit one and then copy that retrofit.

Buzzy seems to demonstrate that their regard for historic preservation isn't perfect, but they have SOME propriety. If ever there was a humainoid figure that was safe from reskinning, The Wicked Witch would perhaps stand behind only the original Mr. Lincoln.

You have far more faith in Corporate WDW than I do. With the recent expenditures for Pandora, Toy Story Land, Star Wars Galaxy's Edge, the Skylift Gondolas, and the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Roller Coaster.... they're in prime penny-pinch mode and are going to reuse and recycle as much as possible any way they can.

Most of the Footlight Parade girls were trashed. However, some were saved both from the ride and from the dumpsters.

It's honestly really sad Disney has been showing no respect to the animatronics from GMR, SGE and CC lately

Stitch was scrapped alongside the other animatronics, including SIR and the two skippies.

He's short, he's amazingly articulate and there's two of him....and they're probably going to be cannibalized to build a couple of Rocket Raccoons.

Sadly, Skippy and "Donut Guy" probably wont get another life.

I didn't take any, but I can check my camera system.. It caught me off guard when the plain clothes sheriff parked in front of my house to walk a few houses up with a folder in his hand.. Hey, weird stuff happens here all the time so I didn't think much of it til I got the full details.. Then, combined with what I have seen at that property with my own two eyes.. It all made sense..

Since the persons renting that particular house moved in, there have been budget rental trucks outside of it on a weekly basis. I've seen footlight parade mannequins, the silhouettes/backdrops of chimney sweeps from GMR, Ride signage, building the future of epcot signs, trash cans. etc.. I didn't see buzzy, but who the hell knows.. There was a lot of stuff moving in and out.. Being in a high-disney-employee-community it was cool to see, but I didn't think much of it..


Until OCSO showed up, that is.

Subsequently I haven't spoken to any authorities about what I've seen at the house.. But the budget rental trucks were there a few days before the search warrant event.. Makes me wonder if they found anything there, or if it was moved prior.

I never noticed that resemblance until now. Is this fact or speculation? Redd sure does look like the witch with Jane's face now that you mention it.

I'm a former cast member at GMR. Most cast members found out pretty quick. There were pics of the witch in the archive but It's gonna take some digging to find it. It's also in rotation for the trivia games at the resort activities cast trivia games (I'm now with resort activities), which is for the most part approved by higher ups. You can honestly tell by the motions she makes with the bottle. The face is EXACT to Jane, not to mention the Jane animatronic was scrapped.

Side note- GMR cast members were always some of the best IMO. Thanks for helping to make that attraction extra special for so many people. Were you one of the performers on the ride or something else?

I was a tour guide for the later half of the time I worked there, for the first half I mostly worked at the fastpass touchpoints/boarding. Thanks! It truly was an experience, and one of my favorites I've ever done. Glad I could spread magic and smiles!
