Grand Gathering Dinner Question?

I just booked a Grand Gathering & was curious to know more about the Dinner & Dessert Viewing of IllumiNations @ Epcot.

If anyone has done this, do you have pictures?

How long does the 'experience' last....what time should we arrive at Epcot?

Do you feel its worth the $60 pp (ex: food, entertainment, viewing of fireworks)?

Thanks,
Leah

I'd like to know this info as well. we have thought of doing this but the price is prohibitive with our group of girl scouts...I think the girls would rather have the money for souvineers. But I think the parents would enjoy the time to relax and enjoy the experience

If non of the GG programs satisfy what you are looking for, you can always check out http://www.disneyleisuregroups.com/ and see if any of those strike your fancy. One of the most popular events is a Wave Pool Rental at Typhoon Lagoon. Prices usually start as low as 10 dollars per wave, with a 100 wave minimum. (1000 dollars to have Typhoon Lagoon wave pool and beach to yourself). 100 waves will usually last 2 and 1/2 hours or so. LOTS of other programs too.

And I would call GG again. That price quote seems MUCH MORE than what I remember. I'm looking to see if I can find anything on it... How many are in your group?

I did the GG boat tour of wishes. I think it was somthing like 120 dollars a family, but well worth it. Before we left they did a meet and greet with Captain Hook and Mr. Smee along with all kinds of snacks. Everyone got lanyards with pins. The boat was navigated by Pirate Patch. He gave out pirate prizes to the kids. After the firework show, Peter Pan met us back at the dock of The Grand Floridian. It was one of the best times I have had there.

I'm doing the "Magical Fireworks Voyage" in May as well. I thought that the dock was at the Contemporary...?

Sorry OP - we're off topic

Nope, the cost is about $60 per adult I believe and $45 for children 9 and under for the Illuminations dinner. It starts at 430pm and then you all head over for the dessert/Illuminations..at least thats how it was explained to me. For our group its nearly $2200. So now I am trying to convince myself that the girls would rather do this than get the $$ per girl. That total includes all chaperones and siblings.

Disney Joe, can you expand on the info? Which did you do? Tony's breakfast now counts as one dining plan option. We are looking at the Illuminations Dinner/Dessert offer. I am taking my daughter's Girl Scout Troop (Junior Girl Scouts 10-11 yrs old) and family member chaperones. Roughly 36 people, all but 8 are newbies to WDW..first trip~ I am trying to determine if this would really be worth the extreme amount of money it would take for all to participate. Thanks for any info you can provide as someone who has experienced these GG options.

Our family did the Illuminations Dinner / Dessert / Fireworks GG last September. We were a group of 18 ranging from 6 to 36 and all had a great time. The dinner was good (dishes from a lot of the countries at Epcot), Entertainment was mostly geared toward the kids but it was enjoyable for adults as well. During dessert we took group pics with the Fab 5 and were then escorted to the private fireworks area. The view was incredible just be prepared for red eyes because of the smoke from the fireworks and it was really loud. Small price to pay for premium real estate to watch Illuminations. We are doing it again this September and plan to do the Safari GG too (if we can get more feedback on it).
