I have a book about Epcot published in 1982. It describes "future" attractions for Germany (a boat ride), Japan (a show with AA and a revolving theater like Carousel of Progress) and the UK pavilion (a "music hall" style show). It also mentions future countries that were never added.

Yup all blue sky .. The EPCOT that never was, like the German rine river ride, Swiss area with the Matterhorn, A Brazilian showcase, I think at one point Italy was supposed to have a gondola ride, the list goes on and on so sad nothing ever came to be

Was I the only one who thought that there would be a couple of more AAs popping up across the finale room with gunshots and light changes like in the mickey mouse revue show, though?

Did you ever even see Mickey Mouse Review, besides on YouTube ? Besides that, I completely agree with you, it would've been an awesome addition to the finale of the attraction

Hey, don't talk smack about Gamera! Gamera is friend to children! Besides, have you SEEN the the trailer for the new movie? Oh, my sweet goodness. It makes me tingle in my nerdy parts.

Don't get me wrong, I love him, but he's always been a second-stringer in America. That said, assuming WB's vague "We got more monster rights" thing hasn't extended over to Kadokawa's properties, would be interesting if Disney ended up getting American remake rights to Gamera to cash-in if this whole Kaiju Cinematic Universe thing takes off. The Friend of All Children could work over at Disney.

Really, could it be...? Could it be that Disney is going to save Walt's original project? Could Epcot be coming to a new age with no more cheap rides? Besides Frozen Maelstrom, I have a feeling we will soon be removing Timon and Pumbaa.

if they did it would probably just shutter with no replacement before anything new ever goes in.

I don't know. Gamera works best when he's tearing monsters up. That trailer there? Perfect example. Cook the Gyaos so their eyeballs burst. Gamera movies should have tons of monster gore and violence. Kid friendly gore and violence, but those monsters should be getting mauled and decapitated left and right. I don't think Disney would do that.

Just for the sake, once again, Walt had no vision of the EPCOT that we saw, the original or the current one. Walt shouldn't be blamed or credited with what eventually was built. There is a huge difference between a City and a Theme Park.

I cannot get over how wonderful this is, the question though is: will this improve the popularity of the ride? It would be wonderful to see it with a decent queue again outside of peak season.

No I have not. But from what I've seen it looked like it did something similar to that. Which is what they should have done for the finale of this attraction xP
