Last Monday, I was on my way back to my resort from DHS, and the bus driver mentioned (I know, I know, bus drivers information is usually not reliable at all) that this was the last year Grad Nights would be held at the Magic Kingdom. He said next year they will be at DHS. I don't know if this has been mention before on this site, but I'm just relaying what I heard.

I just wanted to make sure everyone had heard about it. I had a feeling it was already discussed

ICK!

I cant see DHS being very popular, other then having the "good" thrill rides.

Gradnite was always cool because you were at MK, with all the memories of that place as a Kid. Hopefully theyll switch it back by the time my kids are ready to go in 10-12 years.

Oh well.

That place is going to be a madhouse. I don't see that being much fun, there's nothing to do there other than a handful of rides. Probably a 4 hour wait for RNR. 5 minute wait for Sounds Dangerous

We've already gone over this, but it's being moved to DHS because that park has a stronger "teen brand" and the venues are better suited to accomodate the music acts and the crowds they draw.

The park has a lot of work to do to prepare for Night of Joy and Grad Nite though, as they already have some difficulties dealing with the youth groups for cheer/dance competitions and Festival Disney and those are considered much tamer than the groups usually in attendence at NOJ and GN.

I have a feeling they are going to concentrate more on the entertainment and parties when Grad Nite moves. They'll probably do something special with the new American Idol attraction that's out. I just wonder if there will be less kids per night because the park is smaller.

Well, none, but the theaters are being used for concerts, which will draw a crowd.

I'm really upset about this. I missed the Magic Kingdom by ONE YEAR!!!! :fork:

I understand why they moved it to DHS (the thrills of course), but apart from 4 or 5 rides (and thats stretching it a bit), what other things are there to do? As another poster said, the waits for ToT and RnRC are going to be insane! At least the MK had other attractions that were worth riding that would not have excessively long waits. DHS really does not have anything else, even if you factor TSM into the equation. I'm sure it will still be a great experience, but I'd rather be wattching a concert in front of Cinderella Castle instead of The Sorcerer's Hat.

I suppose it's a combination of the grad night goers spending a lot of time in front of the concert stages and the need to have MK available for more PnPP ?

Perhaps this means they'll offer really top-notch bands at grad nights going forward? I'm not sure who they had before, but I mean popular recording artists.

The Haunted Mansion, Splash Mountain, Peter Pans Flight, Snow Whites Scary Adventures and the TTA all breathe a sigh of relief....

So true!

Just to add my 2 cents as to why this is a good idea, there are so many stages at DHS and the musical acts really should be the emphasis of these events and not the rides so much. I think this move is going to prove VERY successful and they will become more popular than ever. The MK really doesn't have a decent place to properly stage a concert. I think DHS will be able to attract bigger and better shows/bands/singers.
