So wait... You want me to pay more so I can get on the rides I should be able to already, if the parks weren't so overcrowded? A situation you've allowed to happen and can entirely control? Yeah, no.

There is a simple way to deal with overcrowding, that I suspect most people on this forum wouldn't be happy about. Be careful what you wish for.

There is a huge demand for premium experiences. Disney has an entire department to dream up new programs and implement them. Like it or not, there are people willing to pay for almost anything if you offer it.

Absolutely.

The issue is when it infringes on other guests and their experiences.

If you want to pay $80/person for some cheap cupcakes and watch some projections on the chinese theater- by all means, knock yourself out.

But this infringes on others, which sucks. Granted, Universal and others have been doing this with Express Passes for years. The problem is that Disney already artificially inflates wait times through reduction of staff and trains/sides running.

So now it becomes an ethics issue. If they start making BTMRR run only one side of the trains because they know they can sell more $50/person fastpasses- or manipulate tiers like we're seeing at DAK, they are a-holes. Nothing more, nothing less.

Do you get to choose any 3 attractions, or are you still held to what is available and tiers at certain parks? Can you split the 3 and 3 between two parks?

And this will increase wait times for us "normies" by how much? Actually, this probably won't effect much during the trial. If it gets rolled out resort wide, well...RIP wait times.

That is kind of a benefit from having a much smaller room inventory.

True, but it's still a very nice competitive advantage. Top tier passholders also have express bundled too although it's only enabled after 4pm.

Yep. Get rid of the AP option. Problem solved

That's not really going to solve the problem though. They've already added so many blackouts to all but the platinum pass, yet they still hit capacity at Christmas and New Years. They need to increase ticket prices, possibly 2x current.

...and less visitors.

Does anyone know actual attendance numbers? 2017- Universal visitors. 2017-WDW visitors?
2017 is not out yet, but per TEA, MK saw slightly more than double the guests that US did in 2016. (MK 20.3 million US 9.9 million)

By Comparison MK alone will see slightly more guests than US and IOA combined in a given year.

That’s what I figured. Which is why it’s easier for US to do a paid/included with accompations FP.. and why I don’t think we’ll see the current FP system at WDW replaced with a paid version. It would defeat the purpose of why Disney has the system in the first place.

That makes sense. Do you, or does anyone have the trends at all of the parks over time? I'd like to see that graph if it exists.

Raise the price of theme park admission? They (TDO/TWDC) have already been doing that, and are on record as wanting to do it to reduce the number of people visiting the parks. They'd love to have a few million people less visiting MK but paying an additional $20-$50 (or more) per head to get in, plus paying more for food, merchandise, extras, etc.
