sorry i'm so late to this, guys, i had to finish a 50pg paper for school....
I'm with you fractal, the old EPCOT Center was my cup of tea; imagination, horizons, etc... i loved it.
I love a lot of the ideas going here... I think we already seem to be heading somewhere with a theme. i wish i'd been able to jump in and contribute from teh start!
I have a couple of things that came to mind today:
I honestly think, and it seems its showed up here, that figment should be host. he IS the imagination pavillion. he's what people think of, he's the one running the show, effectively, and in short, he's a figment of imagination. it just makes sense that any real change should involve him as the one leading the show. why else was he brought back after the outcry?
... which leads to what i had thot of earlier; i've always loved the idea that's presented in the current JiI, where we go to figment's open house. however, i must admit, the one there is... lacking. I was thinking, somehow, figment goes wild and throws a massive open house, and we may even see into his own imagination, sort of like at the finale of original. or, following the theme that seems current in our thread atm, he has a sort of Imagination convention, bringing all his favorite imaginations into a sort of show, highlighting them, or even showcasing them in their own time, kind of the way timekeeper did with verne.
as for teh time travel thing, i know someone mentioned we may not need anything in particular, like no reasons, but if we follow that route, we still need some sort of logical reason. believe me, i'm the last person to be logical or follow sense, but the general public may not enjoy a ride that is confusing or makes no sense or has them jumping all over. I'd love for them to use their imagination too, but we have to leave, like, markers, for them to reach what we want to convey. (i hate to have some sort of naysaying, but its something we should keep in mind). we just have to find a way to... shall we say, excercise their imagination into working full speed.
it's something i've always felt the imagination pavillion should do; they always talk about things that invoke, or utilize your imagination... why not actually follow some method to actually do so in our guests? (i somehow went from a warning to a challenge/idea.... who knows?)
anyway, i'm up for anything!
