Ok guys, here's our thread.

We need to pick a land and quick. I hope everyone is on at some point this afternoon to take part in the conversation.

My first thoughts are... Sunset Boulevard and Elegance really seem to go together, and Pixar Place could definitely use a restaurant and there's lots of good teeming we could pull from there.

What are your thoughts team?

Ok, I was just looking down at the Map of the Park and noticed the Animation Courtyard, and I realized we could do a really really awesome, Park defining dining experience right in the courtyard. I hope others are able to get on by 5pm, I don't think I should make a decision, since I'm not team leader, but I really hope we get Animation Courtyard after thinking about it.

I was thinking Pixar Place...since there is a wide variety of inspiration with the movies, and there really isn't anything right there (I think? Or is the ABC counter service right there?)...

although, I realize Pixar movies don't automatically scream "elegance"...so this might be a challenge!

Doesn't Sunset already have the Brown Derby? Or am I thinking in the wrong direction?

My very first thoughts were for a lost temple themed restaurant (near Indy stunt) or a sci fi (cantina)theme near Star Tours...

Ok...cross posted...I LOVE the idea of animation courtyard...we CAN make something awesome there!

Really...I am open to what any of our team members decide!

So it has to have a completely original story; ie no Pixar film, Muppet, Star Wars or Indiana Jones restaurant. In which case I think we should go for either Animation Courtyard or Sunset Boulevard. There's definitely more space in Sunset Boulevard.

I can't believe we only have until Sunday, that's three days away!!!

^ A lost temple is a good idea. The sci-fi theme already has a restauraunt.

I'm thinking Pixar Place as well, however.

Ok, I was hesitant to post my idea before we choose, lest the other team take it. But I'm thinking of a restaurant called "Walt's Place" It would be the high end eatery for all of the animated characters, when they aren't busy shooting films. Think Brown Derby, but for all of the toons. It would have a feel much like Roger Rabbit, that mixing of real life with toons.

I imagine the story being something along the lines of, it was built in honor of Walt Disney and features his artwork. It would have caricatures of all the different animated toons hanging up all around the place and would definitely be a mixing of high end with fun and whimsy.

Or, just do Walt's Place as a high end tribute to Walt, and take out all the goofy stuff, just make it really modern and elegant, but retrospective of the man who made it all possible.

I also just wanna say that, I personally don't watch LOST and would be pretty much useless on this project if we went that way.

Edit, nevermind, I realize my mis-reading.

Thanks for choosing me as team leader!

I like the Walt's Place idea. Lots of potential and freedom there. We could have rooms for different films, and maybe a Mickey and Oswald room.

I was thinking an Indy style lost temple...just because it would be so spectacular...and it would definitely look like a movie set!

But thinking about it some more...does it fit with other Hollywood themes? I mean there really aren't too many other movies that take place in caverns or temples are there? (unless you count all the old 50's B movies and serials)

Now...I'm kinda really liking the Animation theme...if we really make it a Roger Rabbit Toontown experience!

My thought on theme Restaurants has always been that they should have awesome effects throughout, and really feel like you are transported somewhere else. That's what I love about the Sci Fi Diner.

Also, as for location, I'm thinking building it on a second floor ABOVE the animation walkthrough, I think if we are careful about how we put in windows, it could really make it feel high end, elevated above the park, and provide a great view of the Chinese Theater.

Do you want to just PM Mater and make the decision then? Oh Team Leader :-)

Do you mind if I wait to see if any more ideas are brought to the table? I'm love the idea, just want to keep it open to objections. I'll wait until 4,since I have until 5 to let Mater know. We get whatever we want,as long as it's by 5.

Oh, absolutely.

I think the time line stuff has just got me itching to get working. Especially given the unfortunate way in which we won the last round. Winning by default is not as good as winning based on our work. Though it is better than losing.

I completely understand. Brainstorming should be in full swing tonight.

I will be able to post in Sunday. Also, wether we alter the animation building or add a new one,if they are able to,I would love fir Chronononymous to illustrate the design. Please let me know if you can.

How about a restaurant adjoining the Tower of Terror. It could be the Hollywood Tower Hotel Bistro and use the Twilight Zone theming and take on a haunted restaurant style look. It could even be inside the Tower of Terror if there's space making it a Hollywood Studios version of Cinderella's Royal Table at MK. Then at lunch there could be meet and greets with Disney Villains. The waiters could have uniforms similar to the bellboys at the Tower of Terror.

I do like the Walt's Place idea too!

I certainly can illustrate! No problems there!

And I will be back online tonight!

I too was a little disappointed at our win by default...though I really feel we would have creamed the competition anyway! :D

I am also bummed that we lost maneatingwreath so fast.

The majority seems to want Animation Courtyard.

Looking at aerial views, there us not much for second story infastructure,so we'd have to build on top.
