The Gulls were working when I was there the past week. Lucky timing for me?

I'm sure they will be fixed within a couple days, however, it's not that they weren't entirely working. The heads still moved and they still said, "Mine" but their mouths were stuck open.

Glad you all like the pics. I would have been able to get more, but there was an accident involving a semi carrying giant logs on I-4 yesterday, so I didn't get to Disney until about 2:30-3ish. And shortly after that is when the storms started. So yesterday was just an unlucky day for me.

Thanks for the update and pics.

I have yet to see the gulls work in person and its hard to believe that they have rusted and had so many problems so quickly. Were they made on the cheep?? I think its embarrassing. How many years did the parrot at POC work, I never saw a problem with them or the outside tikibirds. Not to mention all the animals in the jungle cruise.

I think they need to go back and come up witha better AA or different material, refurbing something this new is ridiculous.

I too was shocked to see the state that they were in already, I mean the attraction opened just last fall.

Now if we can just get Norelco or Gillette or someone to sponsor a good shaving of all that star-support stubble off SSE, we'll be good to go. :D

Yea, it's almost distracting how much more obvious they are in person. But hey, it's better than the stars being there.

Here is the area by ITTBAB with the vantage point looking towards the exits. Those two guys were I'm guessing imagineers scoping the area out, they had what looked to be like permits or plans.
Retro SSE :D

Wow.. I was not a "wand hater" I thought I didn't care either way.. but it looks so much better, I had forgotten what it looked like. 5 more days and I will see it ! :sohappy:

Yes, I have been reporting the Seagull's broken-ness for some time. I'm really upset that they STILL haven't been fixed.

SSE sure does look dirty. I hope they clean it up.:(

However, pre-wand SSE sure looks beautiful.

They're probably going to wait until most of the interior work is finished. Construction creates all kinds of dust and such - plus years of grime from just existing too. It all gets sucked up and vented out... somewhere.

I mean, we know it has vents, we just don't know where they go, and it's presumably not into ground to fill a giant balloon that keeps Future World afloat.

Great, now the magic as to how FW floats over the massive sinkhole has been revealed...

Any chance the Seagulls are of the same type as the DLC Nemo ones - made all at once? I`d bet the specs are for Californias much dryer weather. Epcot needs Orlando-proof versions.

Plausible thought. Though, it still seems odd they'd be rusting already. Its been what 2 years?

I think they may pipe in that same "mine" sound effect to the path between the Boardwalk and the split for Beach Club and Epcot. Every night we walked that path we heard the same exact "animal noise" and I can't imagine there's a real animal that does that.
