Goofy is a dog!

I spoke with Pluto last week at the Garden Grill at a character lunch. I asked him if Goofy is a dog. He nodded his head yes. I have been asking people this at WDW for several years and I couldn't get an answer. I also asked him why Pluto doesn't speak. He couldn't give me an answer for that one.

It was explained to me many, many, years ago by a CM at Disneyland that Pluto is a dog, and Goofy is...well, a goof! Sounded good to me at the time, and it still does.

Because he's a dog, and dogs can't talk. Goofy can talk, because he's a goof, and has evolved beyond his earlier concepts.:)

Advanced evolution.

Interesting subject, so what ecological niche is goofy filling then?

What 'barrier' caused this species diversity to occur?

Did Charles Darwin know about this?

Depending on which side of the evolution/creation debate you listen to, there are some who think that Darwin was a major goof.

I'm definately on Darwins side, but I'll not start that fight on here!

I can't believe a CM didn't know Goofy was at least based on a dog! Do some of these CMs know anything at all about Disney when they apply? Don't answer that.

At any rate, this reminds me of a little Pluto story. When the characters were doing the meet n greet this particular time (long ago), some kid stuck a merchandise sticker on Pluto's tongue. Everyone was laughing about it the whole time. I wonder if the CM had some choice words to say about those kids when he got the costume off (actually he could probably care less).

While we're on the subject, why is it that Mickey and Goofy wear pants, but Donald doesn't? (And please, let's not get into a discussion about chicken se*xing!) Is lack of external se*xual dimorphism a good enough reason to ignore modesty?

After giving it some thought, I can only assume Donald doesn't wear pants because he would look stupid in them. In making him look like a duck, they gave him quite a bit of 'junk in the trunk' as they say. :D

Must be why he always loses his temper.

Does he put on a pair of trunks before he goes swimming?

That's it! The proverbial "Pandora's Box" of Disney characters is now open.

Why does Daisy wear shoes that would be impossible to fit over webbed feet?

Why does Daisy wear shoes, and Donald doesn't?

If Huey, Dewey, and Louie are Donald's nephews, where are the parents? Not to mention A) Mickey's nephews, Ferdie & Mortie - B) Minnie's nieces, Melody & Millie - C) Daisy's nieces, April, May & June.

If Huey, Dewey and Louie call Uncle Scrooge "uncle", does that mean Donald and Scrooge are brothers?

If Goofy is a dog (I still say he's a goof), does he lift one leg when he uses the toilet?

I'll stop there.

Man, I never knew Disney had such a disfunctional family. I think some skeletons should stay in the closet.
