I can see why! It usually is the mother who is mysteriously unaccounted for.

Okay, here's another one: in earlier versions of Mickey, something was missing from his anatomy, yet it was something that Donald and Goofy both had. Anyone? Anyone?

How about the fact the chip and dale and even mickey and minnie are the same size as ducks and dogs. I mean pluto has gotta to be the biggest house pet in the history of pets.

The current "mythology", if you will, is that Huey, Dewey, and Louie are Donald's nephews, the sons of his sister Donna Duck. However, I can't recall what was supposed to have happened to Donna.

Do they actually live with Donald all the time, or just visit? I seem to recall that they're not always living with him.

Doesn't it depend on the story? Most of the older cartoons, they usually seem to be "around." In newer cartoons, don't they live with Donald or Scrooge, depending on the main subject of the plot? I'm not sure: I've probably seen more of the older cartoons than the newer cartoons.

In earlier versions of Mickey, the only definition of his eyes was a pupil (black circles). Donald and Goofy had scleras (the white part), a dark center, and visible eyelids. Later versions of Mickey gave him scleras. The change was for the better, obviously, because the more defined eye helped to express a wider range of emotions.

Once again, character evolution. Survival of the better drawn species!:D

I considered that, but i thought that goofy and donald didn't have the whites either.

Ok, maybe they did.

Goofy

It seems to me the voice and personality of Goofy started out as a cricket in the Silly Symphonies. It is his voice and laugh.

Yes, the voices of many of the early characters were the same people. This is one of those cases. Sterling Holloway probably played the most roles - The Stork in Dumbo, Winnie The Pooh, Rougefored the mouse in Aristocats, and a couple of others.

Nephews and The Goofster

Huey Dewey and Louie's mother is Donald's sister 'Dumbella', which can be seen in an early cartoon when she sends her 3 boys to Donald to care for them!

Goofy admits he is a dog as well. In the closing scene of "Who Framed Roger Rabbit', when the 'cast' is discussing who (or what) Judge Doom wasn't, Goofy comments 'or a dog' after the character say that Doom wasn't 'a rabbit', or a woodpecker', or a dog, all said by Bugs Bunny, Woody Woodpecker, and then Goofy.

why try to analyze it, follow the 'Bugs Bunny philosophy of life'......."I don't ask questions, I just have fun".
