Tramp, do you happen to have the other classic pic? The one in which he is carrying her through the fire?

I had one like that with my face on her body... hehehe... I guess it was from Universal Studios! LOL!

First of all, take in account the movie is 63 years old, and what's make it "boring" is the absurd length of the movie, since in those times, moviemakers refused to cut any scene which wasn't so relevant, so the movie is somehow dense. But for example, you Erika ended hating Scarlett O'Hara and that's a great achievement by the film. The character is so well presented and acted that you get to feel something towards her. That's one of the main goals of a movie: to make you feel the character.
Then again, Rhett is not a great match. He is not attractive at all, plus he plays a very unreal character of the era. He seems to be awfully advanced, yet sometimes he's a fool.
Another good thing is that you can see a story behind the typical war story. In here, love is camouflaged by the cruel background in where the obstacle is really huge, so well, it's interesting to see how things turn out to happen.
The movie is a MUST, no doubt about it, however some parts need a fast-forward pressed.

GONE WITH THE WIND

This is one of my all time favorites. I watched it so many times that I had all of the line memorized. I love the movie and I have never read the book. I think that for the time that it was made in they did a wonderful job making it seem like it was really 1860 to 1865. Viven Leigh and Clark Gable did a Wonderful job as Scarlett and Rhett and Leslie Howard and Olivia De Haviolld ( whatever is her last name) did a wonderful job as Ashley and Melanie. As for Bonnie the little girl was awesome she really looked and acted as she was really Clark Gables daughter in the scene when she is left in the dark while in London.

These are my opinion on the movie and everybody has there own opinion just putting my two cents into this Thread.

I'm pretty sure there was an intermission in theaters... They at least had the decency to do that kind of thing in those days. It's not like sitting though Titanic or Meet Joe Black where they expect you to keep that 64 ounce soda in you that the guy at the concession counter up-sold you (for just $1.50 more!) through the whole thing! ;)

It's no coincidence "old movies" are that long. Editing techniques weren't good enough and so they would ruin some situations, so the directors' choice was to leave everything they had filmed in that way. Meaning, if Scarlett needs to come down from the second floor to the first and then outside; that'd be left that way, when most of the times, today, we just see her starting going down and then a take of the house and she coming out, so with a simplify version be get the same idea.
