You guys are too funny! Go Pack! It's been an amazing season with many ups & downs for us...but we made it! And, no, we're not nordic. You're thinking of Minnesota.

You are correct on the nordic thing. Wisconsin is actually full of Germans (you know brats, beer, saur kraut), and as we all know from our pal Norm MacDonald......Germans love David Hasselhoff!!! I am not sure what my point is here. :veryconfu:wave::lookaroun

Go Steelers!

I know that! I was just being obnoxious towards all the Steeler fans! Thanks, though.
Using this little emotocon  will help to avoid that problem. Of course if I slowed down a bit and actually read the entire post I would have understood what you meant but it seems to be easier to change the ways other post then to actually work on my own faults.

Ah yes, the Lombardi trophy is named after the Packers coach.

But where is the current Packers coach from? PITTSBURGH

Who has more Lombardi trophies than any other team? PITTSBURGH

and as far as the octopus goes...I believe he is dead.
http://mashable.com/2010/10/26/paul-the-octopus-dies/

and gets a giant memorial

Haha yeah I think I did hear that he died. The Steelers may have more Lombardi's, but they have a lot of catching up to do in the Championship category.

Madden Schmadden. Does the video game or Sports Illustrated fall football preview issue account for Sam Shields, Tramon Williams, James Starks, or Erik Walden--a bunch of no names 5 months ago, but garnering a lot of press in the last month?

Does the VG or SI consider Aaron Rodgers' amazing record and passer rating in domes, or even consider what a neutral dome will do for him? And what of Pittsburgh's injured offensive line? Or simple karma, with Roethlisberger's suspension ending 4 months ago? Some comeuppance must be in the stars.

No, folks, Pack 21, Pitt 10. And if Rodgers gets hot, no one in white and gold will stop him, like they couldn't in the very noisy Georgia dome 3 weeks ago. Then, 40 plus points may be in the cards. To be honest, the Pack's toughest game this post-season was against a Pennsylvania team, but it wasn't the Steelers, and a guy named Vick was held to 16 points.

All bating aside, this should be a close game, with great q'backs, tough defenses, and smart coaching. Anything could happen, but my money, and the Las Vegas money, is on the Pack.

It is going to be an awesome game! The two greatest fan bases in the NFL, have their teams playing in the big game. I cant think of a better matchup.

Actually the game does keep track of injuries and updates player stats.

I'm not sure what your point was either, but it made me laugh! If you're thinking that we're all German & love David Hasselhoff, then I believe you're mistaken (at least about the Hasselhoff part). And I don't even like beer (my dad even worked at Miller for 30 years. I'm a disgrace).

Starks! Are you serious? He will be a non-factor in this game. T. williams is an excellent player. Shields and Walden are avg. Don't try to compare the Packs defense with Harrison, Woodley, Timmons, Farrior, Clark, Kiesel and Polamalu. Rogers will light the scoreboard up until he gets hit. Then it's lights out for the Pack. Rodgers qb rating after Peppers hit last week was a whopping 33. If it comes down to a ground game Mendenhall is superior to Starks. The Packers wish they had the run defense the Steelers have. I was at the Falcons /Packers game. I witnessed what the Pack did to Atlanta. Despite their record Atlanta was an overated team the played one of the weakest schedules in the NFL this year. This will be a close game, the Steelers will winn it 27-24. The MVP will be Rashard Mendenhall. He will be the one riding down MSUSA!

And the Steelers offensive line against Mathews, Raji, Woodson, Picket, Bishop, and a healthy Cullen Jenkins? Funny you didn't mention that.

I love the Steelers and think they will take the game by a touchdown. Packers are a good team. They have a good defense and a good quarterback. But I'm not worried about their defense, in my mind the Ravens have the 2nd best defense (2nd to the Steelers, the stats don't lie) and we were able to beat the Ravens.

So yes Aaron Rodgers is a threat...but the Packers were ranked 6th in the NFC for a reason. And Rodgers high stats (IMO) are due to the lack of defense in the NFC.

Anything can happen and in the Superbowl it usually does. I think that two strong quarterbacks, 2 strong defenses and the 2 best fan bases results in a great Superbowl.

Well, hopefully the Steelers won't play dirty, because that hit sure was. Name a QB who plays good after a rattled cage? Rodgers has probally been hit hundreds of times over the last three years including the 50 sacks last year, and has played better than many QBs who don't get hit that often. But give somebody a concussion quality hit to the head and that will most likely effect their play.

Atlanta had a weak schedule???!!!. Atlanta played 8 games against teams with winning records. They had 2 other teams in their division with wining records while Pittsburg only had 1. Pitt only won 3 games against teams with winning records, losing 4, while Atlanta won 5. Just saying...

But over rated really doesn't mean anything. Any team can win any given game. Atlanta was a good team, but just not one over powering in any area, and the Packers simply played better. I don't mean to be antagonistic, but I believe that Pitt is over rated, but that doesn't matter, just who plays better on Sunday.

Last I checked, the Packers were #1 in the conference beating the three highest ranked division winners on the road. They were able to do that for a reason too...

And actually, when rated for points allowed, the NFC and AFC each have five teams in the top 10. But you know, that argument can go both ways. You can say the AFC defenses are better due to lack of offense, although NFC and AFC are even there also.

However, 10 of Pittsburgh's games were against the bottom half of offenses in the league, which may explain their statistically good defense.

Just remember, the best cheese graters are made out of steel....

Go Steelers!!!!!!:sohappy:

Yeah...well...cheese tastes better when its melted :slurp::ROFLOL:

On a slightly more serious note, a cheese grater also has holes in it, like the Steeler's defense. You might be feeling warm, because that was a burn... lol.

The packers were seeded 6th in the playoffs. Just barely made it into the playoffs by one victory. That is a fact. But any team can beat any team on any given day. The Seahawks made it into the playoffs with a losing record so that goes to show anything can happen! I think it's going to be a great game. I'm not going to tear down any team that made the Superbowl so I'm just going to sit back and enjoy the game and hope the best from the Steelers.
