My brother, who is a recording engineer, has a few contacts with the people who do the sound at Britney's concerts and he said they don't even turn her microphone on... just for her to talk to the crowd.

Also, if she's such a good singer, why does 90% of each song have background singing in it. I'm sure its not just for effect.

Ok, that's so not true, that it's not even funny. And until you go to one of her shows and see for yourself, I'd suggest you don't say things you seem to know nothing about. Geez... I mean, when she sings her songs in concert, they sound flat out different(Most of them anyways, sometimes dancing like that and singing is impossible, my god... when you're doing flips, singing is kinda hard... but she's found ways to dance and sing, much like J-lo, Madonna, Janet and others) She even adds in additional "yeahs" and "oohs" to get the point across that oh my god, she's actually singing. Plus the fact that when she pauses, you can hear her take a breath and when she does like a dance break in the middle of a song (Completely different from the album cut) you can hear the heavy breathing that such activity brings upon you.

-Jake

PS-
Oh, yeah... to the person who commented on her collapsing from her new diet. Ok, to critisize her for true things is one thing. To beat her down for TRASH that the tabloids put out, that is beyond low... that's just pathetic. Speak of the devil, might I remind you where the breast implants (Before someone brings it up) thing started? In (Get this!) the British Sun... a tabloid NOTORIOUS for putting out filth and false reports on many decent people. Guess folks will do anything for a quick buck. Pretty sad.

I personally wouldn't enjoy a show that is focused around somebody & a bunch of people dancing & singing... barely singing at that. Don't know about you, but I enjoy substance in my music. Actual instruments being played... and showcased, not shoved in the back in some corner. I also enjoy people singing 100% of their set and only focusing on singing. This is why I love Ozzfest. Because I am guaranteed to see about 22 live bands who aren't trying to impress me with their dance moves and show productions, but with their talent and their musical abilities.

I would think it would be very, very hard to satisfy my needs at a Britney Spears concert. So I'm done arguing about this washed-up piece of pop garbage. If you are going to continue to live in your world of denial and delusion, thats your decision and only yours... I wish you luck in finding some "real" music & some "real" artists.

First off I want to know who this Zak Wylde guy is! and as far as Brittany is concerned,I personally don`t like her music, but I never knock anyone who does like her. We all have differant tastes in music, for instance Country is very popular, yet I can`t stand country! My favorite group is Depeche mode, yet There are people who can`t stand Depeche mode. There is no use getting into an arguement about groups because music is subjective, what one person loves and idolizes another person can`t stand.:D

He's Ozzy Osbournes lead guitarist and has his own band called Zakk Wyldes Black Label Society (awsome stuff!). If you like real metal music w/ actual talent behind it you'll love BLS. Zakks got to be one of the best guitarists to date he rates up their with greats like Dimebag, Page and Hendrix.

FYI Zakk Wylde is a huge though. But I guess you can be like that when you're so good at something. :D

Again, I say.. if you'd been to one of her shows, you'd know better. Alot of the show is focussed on her band. As in, she's not on stage, the spotlights on the band, and they're playing solo pieces.

who aren't trying to impress me with their dance moves and show productions, but with their talent and their musical abilities.

Perhaps I have more of a taste for theater then you... again, you are the type of person who doesn't like people to be different then you. Since my tastes are different then yours, you seem to feel the need to bash me for it. You'll notice I haven't once bashed you for the music you like, even though i can't stand it. I guess I'm too nice.

If you are going to continue to live in your world of denial and delusion, thats your decision and only yours... I wish you luck in finding some "real" music & some "real" artists.

You seem to have failed to read my long post on the first page of this thread. I'm not in denial. I'm not afraid to admit that she' not perfect. Nobody is. And I've found real music by real artists thank you. Just because what I like isn't what you like, there's not need for you to beat me up for it. EVERYBODY HAS DIFFERENT TASTES!

Keep in mind Britney isn't ALL I listen to. ;) In fact she isn't even in my CD player right now. My music tastes are very eclectic. I love everything from some rock to rap to RnB to techno to (Mostly) pop/dance music.

Ok, I don't see why I even need to post this, but since you all seemed to feel the need to invade my thread with biased critisism I guess I must. I started this thread to congradulate Britney on a tour well played. I fail to see why you had to come in and start cutting me, my tastes, and the artist I like (Who you don't even know, how can you hate an image? I've met her, she is one of the nicest people ever, very down to earth.). Why couldn't you hjave just ignored the thread and let the people who enjoy what she brings talk in here? Answer that for me.

 You people are hilarious. Why do you insist on criticizing each others music. If we all had the same taste guess how many artist would be out of work. As a musician (drummer) who has been in a Rock, Country, R&B/Soul, and Jazz band I can honestly say that music is music no matter what genre you like. I don't classify music by type, I classify it by what I like or dislike. I know people who will only listen to one type of music and I think they are really missing out. I'm 40 yrs old and I listen to everything from Britney, Nsync, BSB, to Ozzy, Aerosmith, Van Halen to Default, Nickelback, Matchbox Twenty, to Barry Manilow, Bee Gees, ABBA, to Smashmouth, Blink 182, Alien Ant Farm. I think you get it. Oh, yeah anyone remember the Superbowl Halftime show from a few years ago. The one with Nsync, Aerosmith, Britney, Nelly, and Mary J. Blige. That was the best halftime show I've ever seen. Anyway, that's just my opinion and as a retired Navy guy, I defend your right to have yours.

Dude, you can't start a thread and then limit it to people who agree with you; if you love Brit, then great, but you know there are people here who don't. This is a discussion forum; there is no your thread or my thread.

(Who you don't even know, how can you hate an image? I've met her, she is one of the nicest people ever, very down to earth.).

I don't think that's the issue, Jake; for the most part, the people who disagree with you here have criticized your girl with regards to her artistic and musical merits. Not too many people have criticized her as a person; I've seen her in interviews and she seems very nice. I still don't listen to much of her music, tho; I can make a distinction between the two, and I think most of the folks here do the same.

Well, cuz then it would have a very lonely thread; after all, we wouldn't you sitting here talking to yourself. :animwink:

Seriously, based on previous threads, you know that the "anti-Brit" people on this site far outnumber the foks with your opinion. Doesn't make you wrong, it's just a fact--and you can't seriously expect to post this kind of thread and not get exactly what you have here. (Oops, We Did It Again.) :animwink:

Peace.

Yeah, I thought of that in the shower like 5 minutes after posting this  I think it's more of Oops!...I Did It Again! I Drove You Crazy but Sometimes that's just how I am. Maybe if you knew What It's Like To Be Me you'd understand. But until then I guess you all will just hit me ...Baby One More Time. Yeah, this thread would be Lonely without everyone's opinion. Somehow after all this The Beat Goes On, I guess we just argue to the point of everyone's Satisfaction. I suppose I thought this thread would be Overprotected you guys proved me wrong. I guess I'm one of the very few guys my age who like that Soda Pop stuff. Oh well, After this all clears, still, I Will Be There (at the forums that is :)) So, From the Bottom of My Broken Heart I appologize for what I've said. I gues sit's just one of those things Boys my age do. We do share one thing in common, I Love Rock 'n' Roll (Some of it anyways...) So when it comes to my music, just Let Me Be. Anger blinded my posts, but when you critisize Brit, That's Where You Take Me. We seem to have a sort of Bombastic Love and I'm very Lucky to have friends like you. Now, I'll be Anticipating us going back to talking about DIsney stuff like Cinderella. Just remember, after all this we'll all be much Stronger. But when you don't like my music, Don't Let Me the Last to Know, nothing wrong with a little constructive critisism. But I must warn you, What U See is What U Get, so Don't Go Knockin' On My Door. I Can't Make You Love Me or my music, but I can try. But When Your Eyes Say It, that's when I know you mean what you say. Guys? oh lordy, Where Are You Now?! Oh, boy that was fun! Ok, I'm done now. *Goes to do something productive*

I would say he ranks right next to Randy Rhoads... he plays Randy's old solos perfectly. Just an amazing, amazing guitarist.

Definitely... here's my mini Ozzfest review:

Got into Ozzfest when Pulse Ultra was playing... to tell you the truth I don't remember what they sounded like.

Otep was very good and quite scary... especially the singer.

Neurotica was terrible and I hope to never see or hear them again.

Caught the end of 3rd Strikes set and that they were better than I expected.

I personally thought The Apex Theory was awesome... a lot of OzzFest hardcore fans absolutely hate them, but I loved them.

Lostprophets was definitely my best live experience ever. I was in the middle, in the second row and came as close to moshing as I have ever been. I got somebody else’s blood on my shirt! (Highlight of my trip)

Felt like I was gonna pass out so I went and took a break in my seat while Meshuggah, Hatebreed, and Down played.

Andrew W.K. played on the main stage and definitely received the most hostile reaction from the crowd. Kelly Osbourne, who isn’t exactly well liked, came on stage to sing a song with him and got more of a reaction than he did.

BLS was awesome like they always are. I can’t say more about Zakk.

Adema sounded like crap. The mixing was terrible.

Drowning Pool I thought was very good. At first I wasn’t sure if they deserved a main stage slot, but they proved to me they did.

POD was alright… although I really don’t like them. I agree, they put on a good set.

Rob Zombie was awesome… I really enjoyed his “stripped down” set. Nothing fancy, just him playing.

System of a Down played what I thought was the best live performance I’ve ever seen. The music was not loud at all. It sounded perfect… although it did get loud when it needed to (solos, etc.) Awesome, awesome performance.

Ozzy… what else can I say about him & Zakk. His opening video was hilarious… featured him dressed as a member of the Moulan Rouge and Ms. Cleo (among others).

In closing, this years OzzFest was awesome… I’m just glad I got to see it before Ozzy took his break to be with his wife. He deserves it though, poor guy.

Oteps alright if you dig chicks that sound like guys. :D

The best live performance I've ever seen was from Gravity Kills...sooooo loud. Well ok they were good but Tool takes the cake. Tools actually playing here in August but I have no ticks. :( I have to live off of my experience back in September until the next time. Seriously a Tool show is mesmorizing. Maynard has full control and that can be scary, espescially if he's wearing more feminine attire. I really don't get that guy but he can sing thats for sure. :D

Jake, Disney Expert,

I can see in a way where you are coming from. Now I think Britney is decent, but not favorite. I will never knock a persons choice of music, I like so much and I would never dare to tell someone what is good and what is not.

Now my purpose was not to rant and rave, so here goes. I understand how you feel and liking a celebrity for what they do and have the rest of the world on your back, so maybe my spiel will help you feel better I am a huge huge Nascar fan (see Avatar) and really do not worship one driver, I really like them all. However, Jeff Gordon is one of my favorites. I have lots of his diecast, hats and jackets.

Now first, put your self in his shoes, every venuse he goes to, he is booed.....more than applauded........(luckily, no one will boo Britney b/c they all paid big bucks to see her) as to a race, u applaud your favorites and some people boo alot. Well, if you watch any race on tv, you can actually hear the booing....and yet he smiles.....and WHY?! Well, before Dale Earnhardt died, he talked to Gordon about the boo's and told him....look, why are they booing you? Not because you suck!!!! It is because you keep winning.......people have a hard time accepting raw talent, especially when it interferes with their preconceived notions as to what is good.

Now, what does this have to do with you and Britney? I cant make everyone stop booing Jeff, and nor can you with Britney...you just gotta say, hey I respect your opinion man and that is it. I went to the race in Homestead last Novemeber, and I had a gordon Jacket on...some drunk dude wanted to fight me cause Gordon finished 20 spots better than his Tony Stewart who wrecked earlier.....someone actually wanted to pick a fight!!!!! All I am saying, post all you want of your Britney, let people say their say (because they are entitled to it and this is what forums are for) and move on. I read what you put, just like everything else...it will be okay, Britney will make her millions and thanx to great fans like you!!!!!

Well the most "Metal" I get into is a group called Theatre of tragedy now they are AWESOME!! I like some of ozzies old stuff, but have never been a big Ozzie fan, heck I can`t stand his new show, isn`t funny too me and too much swearing.I`m more into "Electronic" music! But I have never Knocked any kind of music as an art form. But there are some kinds of music which I don`t like, hey this is AMERICA! I don`t have to like everything that everyone else likes. Brittany is a beautiful girl and I`m sure she`s nice and I think I may like one or two of her songs, but I`m not a fan of hers.GIVE ME DEPECHE MODE OR THEATRE OF TRAGEDY ANY DAY!!!:sohappy: :D

Wooo...otep rocks.....i first saw them 3rd stage on ozzfest LAST year and was suprised how great they were...

Zakk Wylde...if you dont know how amazing he is... get a song called "Farm Fiddlin' " he did about..oh..5 years ago...solo thing. his old band "pride and glory" totallllly ruled..much better than BLS..but BLS still owns too. He is a fantastic player who is finally coming into his own light...instead of living in that "randy rhodes" shadow...he really needs to stop drinkign tho..he is currently on liver #3...thats insane..

...and hey..he was in Guns N Roses for 2 weeks..so thats awesome! (Before the slash and crew split)

If you guys are into godlike guitarists...heres a list of player that keep me working hard to get better...

Zakk Wylde (of course)
Yngwie Malmsteen (The legend)
Steve Vai (Inspired me to get into digital music..and i have never turned back)
Nuno Bettencourt ("extreme" aside..an amazing guitarist)
Gary Hoey (first "solo guitarist" i ever saw live)
Al Di Meola (Oldie but goodie)
Robin Finck (proof that there IS life outside of NIN and GnR)

..thats a good list to get you started...and yes..i realize i left out Joe Satch...i have my reasons ;)
