Whoa I was there over President's Week, and atleast I got the global neighborhood anouncement and global neighborhood area on video. Who knows maybe they will put up those giant TV Screens like they did for World Key Information's Earth Station. Only this time it would be plasma.:hammer: WOOOO!

Time Racers was going to be a POST SHOW, as previously said, to a redone Spaceship Earth. The gutting/revamping plans were CANCELLED, but the "impressive" post-show is still possible (and may be what is being constructed right now).

I'm surprised I didn't hear about this one. . . I need to make a trip to the parks.

I HOPE this is what is going to happen. A majorly refurbished SE and new post-show would be perfect.:D

That would be cool. It whould gove new life to a classic without changing the main ride. I would have likes to see time racer and ridden it for atleast a day. Don't get me wrong i don't want another classic to go but i thought time racer sounded like a good concept and i would want to ride it.

New post show is good.

Eisners feeling the pressure know.

I belive he's doing this so fast so that they will keep him until his contract runs up and to leave on a good note instead of everyone hateing him.

I belive we can look for a muppet studios soon and Indy adventure.

Keep the pressure on him.:D

May I have your attention please! Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, you are approaching the New Global Neighborhood! Now that you've seen the future, we invite you to experience it yourself. Soon your vehicle doors will open automatically. Please gather your belongings and watch your step on the moving platform. Then, walk through the portal to AT&T's New Global Neighborhood, and a whole new way to communicate! C'mon! I'll meet'cha there!

Anyone have a good idea of exactly how large, and what form, a gutted spaceship earth would take? Other engineering concerns aside, could it (space-wise) house a full coaster?

After years of seeing it, inside and out, I really have no sense of how big (or small) it is.

I hate that little saying! Everytime I go to watch my SSE video, I have to FF through it to finish the video! I hate it!! :lol:

I would like to see some pictures of what's happening though, like the construction and possibly signs taken down. ISTCrew20, any plans on making it to Epcot this weekend? If so, get a ride on SSE and take some pics of the end!:D

volume=4/3¶r3

Volume = (4/3) (pie) (r^3)

r = radius = 180/2 = 90

r^3 = 90^3 = 90 * 90 * 90 = 729000

Volume = (4/3) (3.14) (729000)

Volume = (1.333) (3.14) (729000)

Volume = 3,051,316.98 cubic feet

That can't POSSIBLY be right, can it? I really don't know...

:confused:

The geosphere is 180 feet in height. At its lowest point, it stands 18 feet off the ground.
The inner sphere (which houses the ride) is 165 feet in diameter and the outer sphere (the silver panels) is 180 feet in diameter. The outer sphere is held about 2 feet away from the inner sphere.
It encompasses 2,200,000 cubic feet of space and has an outside surface of 150,000 square feet.
Its six legs are supported by pylons sunk 120 to 185 feet into the ground.
It weighs 15,520,000 pounds - more than 3 times that of a Space Shuttle fully fueled and ready for launch.
It took 1,700 tons of steel and 26 months to build the sphere.

I was right (I didn't take the inner sphere value nor the height off the ground into consideration;))! (just about)

Epcot is my fav
