Here’s the short version, I will work on a better one for my blog. Bare with me, I went to bed about 3am and my mind was still reeling with thoughts from the movie so what little I did sleep wasn’t very good.

Preface- we have 4 big movie theaters here in Lexington. In the theater we went to they had 4 midnight shows—all SOLD OUT. It was PACKED and packed full of crazy. LOL. I was ready to “shhhh” loudly if I heard too many shrieks and carrying on, but I really didn’t have to. The only thing fan wise I found REALLY annoying was that there was laughter at inappropriate times, and randomly at Jasper. :fork:

The HP preview is really the only good preview that we saw. AMAZING!!!!!! :D It got equally as many shrieks as Edward Cullen LOL. Maybe some from my row. :lookaroun

Overall- I was very happy with the movie. It was about 70% straight from the book, and 30% add ins for the movie. All of the stuff from the book was of course great, the add ins were also good for the most part, there was only 1 that I didn’t like.

Casting- all of the casting was great! The more I try and think about who stood out pretty much everyone did LOL. :o I am a little ashamed to admit that the first time you see the Cullens on screen- you see them through a window walking into the cafeteria I got cold chills. All of the Cullens were DEAD ON. It was almost a little weird because they were just like I imagined.

Stuff that Stands Out- Okay pretty much every time Edward and Bella had a scene together I was holding my breath (which I didn’t realize until my BFF would quietly say something that would make me laugh.) But as nerdy as this sounds I really need to see the movie again to make a more specific judgment. Kristen Stewart did a good job though, she gave Bella a lot more depth and she wasn’t as whiny teenager as she was in the books. One thing I wasn’t too crazy about is that they kind of chopped up the Meadow scene, which ultimately was good but not as good as in the book.

The nomad added storyline was really good. I don’t want to give too much away there. And the scene, oh wait back up…. The baseball scene was my FAVORITE! :D Gah! So awesome. So when the nomads arrive at the ball field and are talking they did a bunch of close-ups of all their eyes and the contrast of how theirs were red and the Cullens were bronze. Again awesome cinematography!

So the scene I didn’t like *sighs* :( was one of my favorites in the book, so in a way I was set up for disappointment. I don’t want to get too specific, but it’s from the end of the Ballet Studio scene where Edward is saving Bella from the venom. And you know, maybe that's what did actually happen...I guess if we had Midnight Sun we would know for sure. ;)

Last thoughts- As a fan, I was really pleased with the movie. :D:D
A few things were different sure, but for me, it 100% captured the feeling from the book which I did not expect it to fully do.

:D Best part of all—the ending TOTALLY almost went out of the way to set up New Moon!!!! I have a ton other things that keep reeling through my mind, I will post a more detailed review on my blog. LOL.

Oh wow! I'm excited!

I have to say... I'm HOPING that scene in the studio is different from the book. One complaint I have with the books are they just don't have enough action. Honestly, each of the four books seem to build and build to SOMETHING at the end... and then it was rather a let down to me when i got there. I was like... that it? So, I AM hoping for a more impactful ending in the movie.

But I'm glad you said that casting was spot on. To be honest, I really wasn't thrilled with the actor who plays Edward. He just isn't beautiful enough... But i thought Bella looked just as I pictured her. But then when I saw those two actors on the Today Show the other morning... I liked "Edward" much more than I liked "Bella." That actress... she doesn't give a very good interview.

But I AM excited for this movie. I bet since it will be the most successful release this production company has ever made, they'll work on "New Moon."

There is a LOT more action in the movie, the added Nomad scenes really added to their storyline I think.

:ROFLOL:I didn't even post anything about Edward, I must be tired. RP was what I expected and I really need to see it again to make a better critique of him as Edward but wow. [Its hard for me to be objective since I have had the RP love since HP.] I think- looks wise- when you see him in context with everyone else in Forks (same with all the Cullens) it lines up pretty well with how he's described in the book I think.

And I saw that interview too. My advertising background got to me, I kept saying "Who is her Media coach?!" she was so bad on the Today show. She was a good Bella though.

They have to make New Moon now there was such a good set up! Including Jacob in one part and Victoria in the end. SO GOOD.

ACK! *covers ears* I don't want to know too much!

But I'm TOTALLY with you on the interview! I thought the same thing. (Though, with my work experience... I often do think that.)

I won't say anymore. Just that at some point in the movie there was a slightly angry glance exchanged between Edward and Jacob. Gave me chills. It was just like I imagined!

Not really. :( Feeling uber bloated too. I feel like a balloon :brick:

:( Sorry Steph. At least today is Friday and isn't an overtime day.

Yes I will share! I need to see if I can stretch my camera along through Thanksgiving. *crosses my fingers*

That sounds like a good relaxing weekend. I can't wait to hear more about the Pet Expo. Max is so not used to being around a lot of dogs, I think he would go crazy. LOL

Hi all! Can't stay. Getting ready to go to my friend's house, then to the airport to go home! :sohappy:

Saw Twilight last night. I really liked it. They were very faithful to the book, aside from 2-3 ish scenes. And it was a lot funnier than I thought it was going to be. Umm...I think Samie gave you all the good details, so I'll leave it at that. :)
