ghiradelli @ dtd vs beaches & cream

That's a hard call. It's tough to beat dark chocolate hot fudge. I have given this thought in the past and I always come back to the same conclusion: Beaches & Cream. I lean this way because you can get food there, not just sweets. The burgers are fantastic. Plus, my favorite ice cream treat of all time is there....the No Way Jose with all chocolate ice cream and extra extra peanut butter sauce and hot fudge. Mmmmm....

GHiradelli hands down -- delicious ice cream, some of the best in the country, and great options.

Beaches and Cream? Blech -- another Disney version of food...nothing to write home about

So your saying that Beaches is no good for the kitchen sink and 6 of us eating eat??? I would not waste money on food there for a meal but would for some ice cream and we are planning on trying it out.

I was told a few years ago that they grind their own beef. We generally split a couple meals between the 4 of us so there's pleeeenty of room for ice cream. Have fun with that Kitchen Sink! There's nothing like having that gargantuan tub o'goodness parked in front of you!

Ok fellow Texan I will assume to go for it. There will be 6 of us and that should work. might be fun for the kids... I will try the burgers on our next trip to whenever. Probably 2013.. Just have not spent any time over on the boardwalk since the first time in 2007 went to eat at ESPN for the son in law and a Texas game which by the way I was totally board with. I hate football but dealt with it for him. Guess your last trip went well??

Not sweetpee, but they had fun on their last trip, and she is working on the trip report. I met up with them at the Yacht Club after their cruise. She's been very busy, and her trip reports take some time. My sister can get long winded at times! lol I love you Kelly!

Beaches & Cream is at the Beach Club (just in case...don't want you wanderin' around the Boardwalk lookin' for it). We stayed at the Yacht Club post cruise and thoroughly enjoyed it. The last trip went well. We've discovered an unexpected love (Disney cruising). Gotta get that TR finished before Christmas gets here! LOL!

I'm with you. Not a sports girl at all. I'm more entertained laughing at the hardcore fans who get reeeaaally into the games... LOL!

Can't wait to see you next week! Feels like an eternity since I've seen y'all! Busy is such a short word to represent the insanity that is my life. Sheesh! 14 hours on the road to go fetch a new car is complete insanity!

I did another couple hours typing the other night. That covered arrival at the YC thru the Yachtsman dinner. Yes, I included the pre-dinner entertainment crossing the lobby just for you & Tracey.

Me, too. I type like a talk which is waaaayyy too much! Mid-September was the adventure. We actually had Ghiradelli's and Beaches & Creams during the trip. I love both but have to give the edge to B & C. I'm passionate about my cheeseburgers but anyone who serves me ice cream with ooey-gooey peanut buttery fudgy goodness is my favorite. Ghiradelli offers something similar but the size is smaller. In life there are some things that size matters. Ice cream heaven? Bigger is a good thing! :slurp:

I would give Ghiradelli the edge when it comes to ice cream but Beaches n Cream has great burgers and sandwiches as well as good ice cream.

I have to go with Beaches and Cream...Ghriadelli is always so crowed that it is just not worth it me. Yes Beaches and Cream is small and you have to wait but if you go on off hours (11am) no wait and not packed!!!! We had a really good lunch there last trip and will going back again!! Wait staff is really fun!!

My family has had the Gold Rush (peanut butter & hot fudge sundae) and the Cookie Bottom Sundae at Ghiradelli and the Kitchen Sink at Beaches and Cream. I guess I would say Ghiradelli was better, but there's really no going wrong. Everything was delicious. I wouldn't make a trip to DtD just for Ghiradelli, though. Even if you're not going to the Beach Club already, Beaches and Cream is just a five minute walk from Epcot.

One thing I don't see mentioned very often about the Kitchen Sink is that it's darn affordable for a medium-to-large-sized group: $23.99 for eight scoops of ice cream and a whole mess of toppings compared with $7-$9 for a one person sundae. We had four adults and two kids and the Kitchen Sink was plenty for us.

Disney's "version" of food? Are you just not a fan of food at WDW at all?
