getting really depressed about rain

The park crowds really diminish during the rain...use it to your advantage.

We have been there when has absolutely down poured, and my son loved playing in the empty 'streets' at least for a moment. I know its not ideal but try and relax....you are on vacation, in Disney and a rainy day there beats a sunny day at work.

That being said, We have also been there when it predicted 30-40% chance of rain and gotten hardly anything so I would not worry to much about it.

Ok @SecondStarTilMorning. Let me make your day..Today here in Scotland,it's Friday and its raining, just like yesterday, and the next weeks forecast is the same..Our rain is wet & cold..Now your soon off to the most magical place on Earth, where if it rains,it's warm, and you soon dry up.So here's my offer.I'll swop places with you..;)
Aye, they don't have rain in Florida. They have outdoor hot showers that last for four minutes. I'd have one right now, would run outside for the pleasure of it.

I know it sounds silly but we are coming in Saturday and there is nothing but rain in the forecast for saturday, sunday, and monday. I decided to splurge on the grand floridian for sat-monday and now it looks like we won't be able to swim at all, or maybe even walk around the grounds. Our magic kingdom day could be a total wash out on Sunday. Sorry, just need to vent. Someone tell me it'll be ok!

Well, I suggest you find a qualified medical professional to talk to about your depression. I wouldnt go all in and onto serious medication unless therapy doesnt work.

Oh for goodness sake, I need to vent too. If you worry about a little bit of rain then you run the risk of not enjoying yourself due to being fixated on what the clouds are doing and not on what YOU should be doing, which is enjoying yourself at Disney.

Take it from someone who lives in an area that has a forecast of 100% precipitation almost every day, rain stops at the skin and if you let it spoil your day, it will. Make up your mind to enjoy yourself regardless, and you will have a good time.

Look, when we went in 2009 it LITERALLY RAINED FOR THE ENTIRE 2 weeks we were there...but you know what? It didn't mess up a single thing (except maybe Wishes for one of the nights). Rain in WDW is awesome, the crowds disappear and you can still do 85% of everything they have to offer! Have Fun!!

The rain is better than sun, trust me on that. And 30-40% isn't really a big deal! A lot of the time it doesn't rain here in Orlando with less than 60%. Bring ponchos just in case, and know that if it does rain, the lines will be MUCH shorter because of it :)

It is a 40% chance. It has been overcast and windy so far. I hope the rain is brief but Central FL is in the midst of a horrible drought and needs rain desperately. I hope you enjoy your vacation and it only rains overnight so everyone is a winner.

I just looked at the forecast and it seems like a typical one for this time of year. Don't get depressed yet. It might not rain. Anyway, one of the most fun days I had was at Epcot with my cousin and it poured all day. We laughed so much that day. Just don't wear socks with your shoes. Not comfy at all when it's pouring.

It can say 100% chance of rain, and it still not rain!;) You'll be fine.
One year we stayed @ CBR, and my boys were so excited for the pool. We went once as there was a thunderstorm that lasted throughout the evening every day! But, it didn't ruin our vacation! We found shelter when it rained at MK, and then rode, rode rode!:D Have fun!:D

Wow! I'm sorry to hear that news :(
That did actually happen to me my last year in September, it was a total wash out, ALL DAY for two days! It was terrible, we couldn't even go to Magic Kingdom, we basically drove around to stores /: The days I went said 90% chance of rain for everyday we were there, it was pretty bad...

But it is spring, and usually the weather isn't too wet so I think you'll be alright, maybe a few sprinkles here and there.

So we've experienced all kinds of rain at Disney. Spotty showers, consistent light rain throughout the week and on our spring break 2011 trip, torrential rain with a few tornados thrown in! The best advice I can give you is to go prepared with your own rain gear. DO NOT wait to see if it rains and then buy the Disney ponchos. Ok, so it's fun to buy anything with Mickey on it, but that is a disaster of a product! The face opening on the hood is to small so you end up coninually trying to push your face through and eventually tear the poncho and once it is torn the tension is gone which results in the hood continually falling off your head. A couple years ago, we picked up Coleman rain ponchos(they also sell rain jackets) at Wal-Mart for about $5.00. They are a better quality than what Disney sells and most importantly, they have a drawstring hood. And don't plan to run to Wal-Mart once you are there(assuming you have your own transportation) if it does rain. Some of our group did not come prepared on on 2011 trip so we made a mad dash to two different Wal-Marts and a Target, but just about everything was sold out. The only thing we could find was one cheap childrens poncho and some of those plastic head "scarfs" like old ladies wear to protect their hair dos.
We had a ridiculous amount of rain on that trip and had a few weary moments, but it was our best trip ever as we embraced the challenge of the rain. We made sure to get a picture in front of the castle in our creative rain gear. That picture with my sister-in-law in her taped together Disney poncho(I think it was several ponchos taped together) and my brother-in-law and 17 yr. old nephew in their old lady plastic head scarfs, will forever be my favorite!:D

We are talking about rain folks ,GROW UP!!!! I would never let rain stop me from doing ANY THING, we still go to the parks no matter what the weather (except dangerous weather) and have been in the parks during every type of weather there is and guess what...........It was still awesome. I'm a serious angler and I have spent many, many, many days in total down pours, But it doesn't impair the fact that I am doing some thing I love and some thing that a lot of people aren't able to enjoy. It's just water get over it and HAVE FUN
