getting really depressed about rain

Semper paratus folks. If rain is a concern for you, be sure to pack along whatever raingear relieves your anxiety. You can go with umbrellas, inexpensive "use once and throw away" WalMart-level ponchos or go whole hog and grab a LL Bean full blown, Nor'easter rainsuit.

You are all pushing 200 lb. strollers and hauling 75 lb. backpacks anyway, right? So what's the big deal about adding some raingear to your load?
<just kidding>

No doubt we will have a great time. I am just wondering with a 40 percent chance of rain on saturday and a 30 percent chance of rain on monday how much time we will have with a peek of sun or dryness

That's nothing, kind of normal for a Disney trip (at least all the times I've gone it seems to be the norm). Plus, it'll likely be hot out, so the rain won't be a problem like when it's cooler there. Really, don't waste time/money getting a poncho, it'll just be annoying to carry after the rain and will be hot if you keep it on after it rains.

And as everyone else has said, people go crazy when it rains and they seem to run away from rides, so take advantage of it while you can.

Ah, I remember when I used to buy ponchos...now I just embrace getting soaked.

I know it sounds silly but we are coming in Saturday and there is nothing but rain in the forecast for saturday, sunday, and monday. I decided to splurge on the grand floridian for sat-monday and now it looks like we won't be able to swim at all, or maybe even walk around the grounds. Our magic kingdom day could be a total wash out on Sunday. Sorry, just need to vent. Someone tell me it'll be ok!

I t will be ok. You can get ponchos and do alk that stuff or do of the inside stuff. In fl it will show rain just about everyday. In fl you are also likely to get some type of rain each day. Just enjoy your trip

Just as a heads up, the link to your imagineering blog has a virus attached to it, so just to make sure nobody else has an issue like I just did, I would suggest removing the link and figuring out why this problem exists with your blog.

Thanks!! I will be doing that...I haven't updated it in forever. Just never got around to changing sig..Might as well just delete. Sorry for any trouble it may have caused!!

Awww, it'll be okay! We don't know what the weather will be, but it will be okay!

And 30-40% could mean no rain. You never know.

Try to make the most of the mornings. While it can (and sometimes does) rain all day, rain usually starts around 3-7 p.m. Usually, if it will be nice at all, it will be nice n the mornings.

Have a rain plan and hope for the best!!

Good luck!
Then again, there could be tons of rain and hail and wind on Sunday afternoon and evening. Really loud, too! Especially in Osceola County!

;)

You will be fine!!!!! Good news is our temps right now are amazing!! 80's all around. If the forecast stays the same you will have plenty of sunny time! I drove up Saturday when they were saying 60% chance hoping it would rain and thin out crowds a bit...not a drop!!! Highly doubt you will see anything close to a wash out. Enjoy!!!

I'm in Texas and we've been having a nice, rainy spring so far but usually it's just drought, drought, drought.

If it rains when we're at Disney, we don't care. We like to go out and play in it (to remind ourselves what it looks like) plus it usually cools things down a bit and it doesn't last too long anyway.

When is there not a least a 40 percent of rain in Florida? It can be pouring at Epcot and beautiful sunny skies at MK! I promise you will have the time of your life and make sweet memories rain or shine! A rainy day at WDW is better than any day in the real world!

Some of the fall, most of the winter and part of the spring. Today and tomorrow, for instance. :) some days in the summer, too.

When they aren't predicting rain, they're issuing fire advisories, lol. We have a dry season and a rainy season. :)

I remember before our first trip seeing thunderstorms predicted for every day of our trip. It made me a little nervous too, but I think it actually only rained one day and for a short time.

Yikes, the things people whine about. Your trip is what you make it. I've said that in numerous other threads. You can't control the weather, but you CAN control what you do...

Funny. Rain in general always seems to give me mixed emotions. Sometimes, I welcome it with open arms. Other times, I hate getting drenched and wish it never came. On my last Disney trip, I experienced rain for the first time ever on a Disney trip. Now I'm not someone who likes to take chances but with some flexibility, I changed my theme park itinerary and I did Hollywood Studios and Downtown Disney all on that rain day. Just be flexible and if you feel the need to change plans because of rain, do as you please.
