Getting kicked out of Disney for cutting in line...doubt it will ever happen!

I had to write about this one. I just saw an article on MSN under the travel section titled "17 Things That Will Get You Kicked Out of Disney Parks". I cannot stop laughing about number 13 of 17 as copied in below. Oh the many times I have stood in lines while people walk through the line claiming a family member up front, someone holding their place, had to go to the bathroom, etc. I have seen some of the other 17 violated as well and never once did I see anything happen.

In any case, I say below is a total joke. Nobody watches. Nothing is enforced. This type of thing happens every day and I doubt anyone will ever get kicked out for it.

13. Cutting in line

Cutting in line isn’t just rude and against society’s unspoken rules. It’s considered disruptive to other guests, and that behavior is against Disney policy. Cutting also includes a friend or family member holding a spot for you while you go to the bathroom, grab food, etc. If you get called out for cutting and cause a scene, a cast member could call security and have you escorted out. You’ll also get tossed out for trying to climb over fences and gates to sneak to the front.

I will say that while I saw some cutting, it was no where near as bad as it is at Six Flags. WDW staff would at least address it when they saw it.

Emphasis on 'When'.

Except of course for scooters cutting bus lines.

Those bus lines, late at night, when everybody is tired and cranky, are a powder keg waiting to go off. It seems they need more staff at the bus stops.

Let me make sure I understand this. So when I get in the 2 hour standby line for FoP, I don't have to use the bathroom. But after waiting for any hour, I really need to. And if I leave, I'm considered cutting in line when I return and am subject to removal from the park if a CM spots me? I usually tell the people standing behind us that I'm leaving to use the bathroom. I try to remember to tell the CM at the entrance. But Disney would rather I remain in line and pee in my pants? That explains why parents let their kids pee in line....

Or maybe when you leave to use the restroom, the CM at the entrance can hand you the Disney version of the bathroom hall pass.

The real question is- Why are you waiting 2 hours for a 5 minute ride? You have no sympathy from me!

I'm not - don't do that ride without FP. Just using it to illustrate my point as it's currently the ride with the longest standby time and one I could see people going ape about line cutters. 😁

But word to the wise...some people have smaller bladders the older we get. 😉

I think if you cut in line blatently and then cause a scene so bad that security needs to step in, then yeah, that's a removable offense.

WDW not only won’t kick you out, they won’t even make violators go to the back of the line. We see it all the time and the only thing they do is say “you shouldn’t do that” and let them proceed. That’s why people continually line jump along with the fact that MOST people won’t say anything whatsoever.

I think they are trying to avoid confrontation in the lines. Imagine cast members fighting with guests and trying to pull them out of line along with their crying children. Bad move it would be chaos. I have a bigger issue with parents not controlling their kids in line. I can't tell you how many times I have been bumped kicked and had my voice changed by little arm swingers and climbers.

Paris is the absolute WORST for it. Not just the 'my family are ahead' routine but genuine pushing. If you're in a wider bit of line and walking to meet the end people have no issue just bumping past you.

And on the needing to pee, the worst i saw at DLP was in a 10 min queue for Cars where a mother held her daughter to do a wee over a fence. Absolutely disgusting.

Maybe I have just been lucky but I have never actually witnessed an instance of line cutting in all my years visiting the parks, but I am sure some people are just that rude. Wow. I can only cringe at the thought of how entitled and self-important are these cutters in their real life if they are pulling this stunt at Disney World.

No doubt they are the ones on the 'Under 12 Item' line at the grocery store with 38 items. The grocery store police never reprimand those in that entitled group either! :mad:

Usually when theres a Disney article that shows up, you have to remember most of the info youll read is either totally false, made up, misinterpreted or is an anti-Disney hit peice. Very rarely do we see a well written article from someone whose actually been to Disney and is well versed in what they write about. The more they sensationalize the facts the more people will read. I only wish Disney would actually remove intolerable, insolent, misbehaving guests. That would go a long way to making it Where Dreams Come True.

It happens, and you'll get the proverbial "mouse slap on the wrist" if caught. If particularly egregious (e.g. tour groups) then they may get a bit "tougher."

But don't look to The Mouse™ for harsh punishment. They don't want to derail the gravy train. 🤣

Now I'm not a scooter user, nor is anyone in my party. However, scooter users are meant to wait in a separate line, because they must be boarded first onto a bus. The driver needs to see if there are any scooters when they first arrive.

What I don't like is when the scooter user has 12 family members all boarding with them. That is annoying, and maybe that needs to be looked at. Or of course, maybe they are taking the proverbial *****.

However don't demonise all scooter users for simply following the rules they have been given.
