Getting in room on early arrival...

What do you think the odds are of my room being ready at 10 - 10:30AM on my arrival day? I hate to have to walk around for a few hours because we will have been up since 3AM and to have to wait until 2PM or so to get into room would just kill our whole day cause we will be utterly exhausted.

I didn't vote, because I would say the chances are somewhere between slim and good. You can always ask if they can change you to a room that's available immediately. I would say it's possible, just not probable.

No need for a poll, you chances are pretty good. We have arrived around 9am and had our room ready to go. We have arrived around noon and the room we requested was not ready so they upgraded us. We have arrived in the late afternoon and the room was ready. We have never arrived at any of the resorts and had to wait more than a few minutes to check in and get our keys...busy times and slow times.

I would take a wild guess that it might depend on what day of the week you are arriving. I'm not a travel expert, but it seems like if it was on the weekend, you might stand a slightly better chance than on a weekday, since the weekends are big(?) arrival and departure days.

Again, just guess work on my part.

If my memory serves me right, I believe you can leave your bags with an attendant at check-in if your room isn't ready and they will put them in your room while you visit the parks. Or if you are doing the Magical Express you won't even have to touch your bags.

I am arriving on my next trip in 2 weeks and we will get to our resort around 10:30AM. We have been told that we can check-in then leave for the parks and our room will be ready for us when we get back.

Sounds more like they may want to take a nap than visit the parks.

Why bother with the poll? Have you decided to definitely go? Because in the "no more smoking at WDW resorts" thread, you were seriously considering cancelling your trip, remember? Or have you decided to bring a goodly supply of Oust with you?

There's a decent chance they'll have a room available, especially if you say you'll take the first room available. This way, if there was a vacant room the night before, you might be able to take it. And if nothing's ready the second you get there, they might have something for you within an hour or so, certainly before official check-in time. Pack one bag with bathing suits for everyone in your party and plenty of sunscreen. Or just have bathing suits on under your clothes. Hang poolside while waiting. Heck, take a nap poolside, it happens all the time. Soak in the whirlpool. Get a snack. You might feel refreshed even before you get to your room.

Yes Slappy, I didnt cancel my trip and I do plan on bringing Oust with me. As for bags we do have the Magical Express. My plans were to have a bite of lunch at our resort (depending upon the start time) and then catch a few ZzZz's before heading to MK. As for taking another room... it would depend on where the room is verus the room we were suppose to have, because we have a woods view and was praying it would be facing MK and be able to view the fireworks at night as we were able to do there our last trip 9 yrs ago.

I have a similar situation. We're getting up at 4 a.m. tomorrow and will be landing in Orlando at 9:30 EST. We plan on going on adrenaline and heading for Epcot for a bit, then coming back and resting in the early evening before our dinner at Boma!
Come on man! It's Disney - who needs to sleep?!

It all depends on how booked up the resort is. If they aren't completely booked, odds are there probably was not anyone in your room the day prior to your arrival, so no need to clean it.

I think the only time we got the room right away is when we arrive there around 2:00 p.m. We never get the room early and we have gone off season many, many times. I said to my husband, I think they do that so that no body complains that somebody else got a room early, now that I find out other people got in there room early, I'm a little upset, as we go every year!:fork:

Most times I have checked in around 9 a.m. and had no wait for a room.

If you think about it, a lot of guests probably check out on departure day around 7-8 a.m. because they have a breakfast reservation, they want to hit a park one more time, or they have to catch a flight.

It COMPLETELY depends.... I almost ALWAYS check in early... and sometimes the room is ready right away, sometimes I've had to wait up to 2 hours! It just all depends on capacity, day of the week, cycle of the moon, etc.

Good luck... but I wouldn't be surprised if you explained your situation they could help you out. :)

I don't know if they still do this but a few years ago we tried to check into (then) Dixie Landings at approx 9am (early flight) and we were given one of those vibrating things (like when waiting for a table at some restaurants) and told to return to front desk when the lights flashed and the thing vibrated .... anyway, about 10minutes later my dad accidentally dropped it in the toilet basin (it was clean by the way) and the thing went mad, flashing and vibrating.... we took it back to the desk to tell them but the receptionist didn't seem to understand - apologised that the room we had been allocated wasn't ready but as we'd been inconvenienced by the thing going off before our time, they found us a room immediately, and we were in it by 9.30.....

Never have been able to get to the room before 2 pm. That was the earliest. We usually go to Downtown Disney or Walmart (Exciting I know) to pick up a few things for the stay...like wine coolers for the fridge.:slurp:

All depends on how full the resort is. Last week I checked in at Coronado Springs at 8:30am and our room was ready. Last November we checked in at 12:30pm at POFQ and the rooms was not ready. We just dropped our carry on bag with the conceriege and off to the park we went. The rest of our luggage was in the room when we got back from the park. Enjoy!
