Get rid of McDonald's in the Parks

So as you can plainly see, you can get an entire sandwhich for LESS than a small order of french fries! If that doesn't blow your mind and make you think twice about your "one small order" then you need to go see a doctor and have your diet checked out. Quit living in a cave and eat healthy.

I can see what you mean, but you know if you think of it like sweets, if you like it, eat it like once a month, but eat healthy things inbetween!

I can't stand it when fatties won't wake up and realize ANY fast food is bad for you. Sure, the salads at McDonalds would be healthy if you didn't eat the dressing, but if you're eating at McDonalds chances are you are going to use the dressing they provide, and then some. French fries are basically like cigarettes. The amount of saturated fat and trans fat in EVEN A SMALL portion is completely disproportionate to what the normal HEALTHY human should be having. As for Super Size Me being a farce, you are sadly mistaken. If you take the time to go over to McDonald's website, look at their nutritional menu, and check out the figures, you'll see some horrifying things. Someone said something like, "Of course his stomach reacted like that he was eating almost nothing but vegan beforehand," well, if your stomach is so accustomed to having crap in it, ie. fast food, that you don't feel a little woozy after munching down on a nice helping of fat and calories, then really, it is YOUR stomach that we should discuss. He was a healthy eater beforehand, his stomach simply reacted to the toxins found within the food.

It blows my mind how complacent people are with being overweight, unhealthy, and down right nasty. Our kids are getting fatter every year because mom and dad would rather give them "a little order of french fries" rather than seek out fruits, vegetables, or something healthier. Its irresponsible, reprehensible, and disgusting. There is nothing "okay" with the food at McDonalds, Wendys, Burger King, etc. It is all filth. America is fat because we are "ok" with it. I'm sorry but Im tired of seeing all the nasty fat sweaty people struggling to get around the park just because they're too cheap and lazy to get healthier food or work out. You can work out for 15-20 minutes a day and it would be better than nothing. This is just pathetic.
OK, I get that your morally superior and tactless. Was there another point to your post? I'm thinking it has something to do with fast food or trans fat or telling other people how to live their lives or something like that. You did such a stellar job on your first two points that it's a shame your other points have been lost. I want to learn from you. Perhaps if you trimmed your post, it would be easier for me to extract your arguments.

No, it isn't.

Unless they've changed the menu recently, this post pretty much tells me it's a McDonald's:

Restaurantosaurus
Animal Kingdom - Dinoland USA
March 2005

Dino-sized Double Cheeseburger
- half lb. burger with fries
Cheeseburger
-quarter lb. burger with fries
Hot-Dogosaurus
-quarter lb. hot dog with fries
McDonald’s 10 Chicken McNuggets with fries
Mandarin Chicken Salad
-Fresh greens and mandarin oranges tossed in a sesame ginger vinaigrette dressing
Vegetarian Burger with fries

For Guest Ages 11 & Under
McDonald’s Happy Meal
-include 4 chicken McNuggets with fries, child’s size beverage, and a premium toy

The hot dog is the only thing not usually sold by McDonald's. They may not sell everything a regular McDonald's does, but I think it still qualifies, especially when Disney lists it in its guidebooks with the McDonald's Arches symbol next to it.

First lesson: The proper use of "your" is possession, as in "That is YOUR dog." I believe the word you are looking for is "you're". As in, "You're beautiful."

Zing!

*end sarcasm... however, my grammar lesson is still pertinent.

You know, I've been trying to present a logical call to personal resposibility without the insults.

You sir, are way out of line.

Ya know, this thread makes me think.

The first time I noticed the McDonald's stands in the parks, I never really thought about it.
I just saw it as, Oh, they sell McDonalds here.
Same with DTD.
I think they are just offering choices, plus McDonalds is one of the biggest worldwide fast food chains. Therefore, it may appeal to guests from out of the country a little more than the guests that live here.

Personally, I could care less if they have McD's there or not.
With all of the food choices, I do not even think twice of it.
It might just be me, but I am not reminded of everyday "normal" life by seeing a McD's.

Just my opinion.

Is there not a "nicer" way to put it?

Some people have physical disabilities which restrict them from exercise on a daily basis. Some poeple may struggle to get around the parks for other reasons besides from eating healthier, or working out.

Richard Cranium, I hope you dont drink after all this pontificating. I bet your a veggie? Heres a news flash you are going to die whether you eat a macky Ds or not. Typical spam with the fixation of eternal youth / life. Youve made your choice that is abundantly clear and are free to voice them but remember opinions are like arseholes everyone has one (or in some cases are one)but its not nice to have someone elses stuck in your face.

But still I think youve got the attention you were seeking. Trying to make up for a little lack of something?

Instead of assuming do a little research. (Several good books on Disney history discuss the relationship with this company.)

Only one restaurant owned by McDonald's lies within a Disney theme park. And it isn't in Florida. While several locations at WDW sell McDonald's product, they are owned and operated by Disney.

Hey I appologize if I started some sort of war here. I just wanted to express my feelings on the subject. I was not looking for a debate or an arguement, I simply had strong feelings on the issue and just expressd my thoughts.

Also please accept my apologies if anything I have said over the past couple of days has been taken as offensive in anyway. I am currently on my 3rd day of quitting cigarettes cold turkey and I'm struggling with every second of it, mainly cause I can't justify the $50 for the patches. Another example of the fact that its cheaper to be unhealthy than it is to make the "right choice" and quit an addiction. :brick:

I'll leave by quoting ancient Chinese text that definately applies here:

"We cling to our own point of view, as
thought everything depended upon it.
Yet our opinions have no permanence;
like autumn and winter, they gradually
pass away."

-Chuang Tzu

Sorry if I caused anyone any unneeded stress or strain from my previous posts, I just felt like venting. :zipit:

I don't mind seeing MD's fry stands in the park... in fact I don't recall seeing that many of them. Besides, it was probably the only truly vegetarian food stand I saw there. Not that I got any while I was there.

McDonald's Fries are flavored with beef extract (tallow), so they are definitely NOT vegetarian.

To the few people that are saying "go eat something healthier" and are sounding like they have a superiority complex - Do you buy your produce in the regular produce section of the grocery store? What kind of bread do you consume? You complain about what's in fast food - try looking up what's contained in 90% of what's sold in the grocery store. Subway - Ok, we won't talk about their processed breads, meats, etc. Fruits and vegetables are, by and large, sprayed with chemicals and ripeners while growing. You don't even get a lot of the benefits from them, because they aren't allowed to properly ripen before they are harvested. You get an immature product that is forced, thru chemicals, to maturity.

Sorry about the soapbox, but I couldn't let this one go.

Was there not something floating around that there is also more potato in the milkshakes than there are in the fries? Maybe I've picked that up in true Urban Legend style but if there's any truth in it it's quite shocking!!

Not sure if this has been noted....but the top 3 most recognizable trademarks in the world are....
#1....Coke...yep its at WDW
#3....Mcdonalds....yep its at WDW
Can anyone guess what #2 is?......yep its at WDW......Mickey Mouse
I sense a pattern here.
