I think Orville Redenbacher popcorn should be banned in the parks. :hammer:

Hey, you're banned, that's crossing the line! Don't mess with my Orville!!!

CoffeeJedi - Your response was exactly was I was trying to get others to do - read the labels and know what's in the food you buy. We try to eat more natural and/or organic food, but a lot of times it's hard to do - always running errands, appointments, activities, etc. But we try to make the best choices we can, with the information we've found thru research. I've tried my best to eliminate soda from my diet, although I still have some now and then. I drink water, mostly - never liked coffee anyway, so that was easy to not have! :) The soda was hard to give up, but I did it. I have to admit, though, that I drink it more than water when I'm at WDW.

Scooter - thanks! That was very good information.

Shoppingnut - Yep, it's all about moderation (and personal responsibility, but that's a whole different thread ;) ). Once in a while shouldn't hurt you - every day is a totally different thing.

Some of you may get your wish...Not sure if it's been brought up somewhere yet or what the rule is here about posting links (don't post on here very much) but.. heres an expert from the Orlando Sentinel..

"McDonald's Corp. and Walt Disney Co. have been promoting each other's offerings for nearly 20 years. And that makes breaking up hard to do.

But the end of their exclusive 10-year relationship has arrived. And while launching the last official joint promotion next week, they remain locked in talks over new promotions for 2007 and 2008. They also continue to discuss the future of McDonald's restaurants at Disneyland and Disney's California Adventure Park, both located in Anaheim, and Walt Disney World in Orlando, which were covered by the agreement."

Yes, this was in another thread and McD's decided to part ways from Disney, not the other way around. Also, the "Exclusivity" had to do with the toys in the happy meals. If you noticed, all happy meal toys in the past 10 years have only been disney, that's what they were really ending because they were forced to promote toys/movies that were flops and there are now other animation studios out there like Dreamworks that they would like to work with and were prevented from because of their agreement.

I dont think the fry stands and all are THAT big a deal, it's just like a lot of the food you get in the parks, only it has a Mc Donalds logo stamped on it. It's not like Disney just been convered with blatant corporate symbolism, it's always been there. I mean, you have Kodak Perfect Picture spots, Dole stands, Rides sponsored by so-and-so.

Besides that these days Mc Donalds is much more heathy than people think. The UK menu here in fact could be considered a little TOO healthy. I'm annoyed now that everytime I have a happy meal just for a nice toy or I see a Mc Donalds ad that they also have to add "run and jump and play for 60 minutes a day and be active!" it's a good message yes but I dont want it rammed down my throat. Its up to the individual or the parent to watch what their kids eat. I grew up in a place with a large abundance of Mc Donalds and I'm hardly a fat slob. Mc Donalds was a treat for when we were good.

Besides that I wouldnt want the two main Mc Donalds in Disney gone. They are part of our Florida tradition, on our first day we always go to the Downtown Disney Mc Donalds for a nice pancake breakfast.
